''Nonnegative'' is the seventh studio album by Japanese rock band Coldrain. Recorded at Studio Barbarosa in Orlando, Florida with producer Michael 'Elvis' Baskette (who previously produced the band's predecessors, '' Fateless'' and '' The Side Effects''), it was released on July 6, 2022 by Warner Music Japan. ''Nonnegative'' is the third album by the band to be released by Warner Music and is the follow-up to 2019's ''The Side Effects''. It was formally announced during the band's fifteenth anniversary live stream and was preceded by five singles. Coldrain
are a Japanese Rock music, rock band from Nagoya, Japan, who were formed in 2007. The band combines melodic singing with screams typical of the post-hardcore genre. Although the band is Japanese, all of their songs are written in English. The lineup consists of lead vocalist Masato Hayakawa, guitarists Ryo Yokochi (Y.K.C.) and Kazuya Sugiyama (Sugi), bassist Ryo Shimizu (RxYxO) and drummer Katsuma Minatani. Hayakawa has a Japanese father and an American mother and speaks both Japanese and English fluently. The band's first two albums, ''Final Destination (album), Final Destination'' and ''The Enemy Inside (Coldrain album), The Enemy Inside'', were both released exclusively in their home country of Japan. Through Clarity
''Through Clarity'' is the second EP by Japanese rock band Coldrain, released in Japan on July 4, 2012, and in Europe on January 27, 2014. The lead single, "No Escape", is featured in the official Japanese trailer for '' Resident Evil: Raccoon City''. Critical reception The EP received mostly positive reviews from critics. Greg Spencer of ''Dead Press!'' praised the opener, "No Escape", for its pacing and energy. "''Through Clarity'' begins with "No Escape", which is a rip roaring beast of a track. Its frenetic pacing and unstoppable energy combined with a catchy chorus make for a fantastic beginning to the EP. It isn't the heaviest of songs, but that actually works in the band's favour as frontman Masato has a really melodic presence as a vocalist and he carries the track forward with his vocals which range from heavy screams to Jason Butler style softer intonations." Mayday (Coldrain Song)
"Mayday" (stylised in all caps) is a song by Japanese rock band Coldrain. It is the fifth single from their sixth studio album '' The Side Effects'', produced by Michael Baskette, written by Masato Hayakawa and Ryo Yokochi, and was released on 2 November 2019. "Mayday" features Ryo Kinoshita from Japanese metalcore band Crystal Lake. "Mayday" is the second anime opening for ''Fire Force''. "Mayday" also samples the Pakistan International Airlines Flight 661 mayday distress signal in the song's intro. Due to the success of the single being on the anime, it started rotating in circles around the metalcore scene elevating the band to new heights. ''The Revelation'' is the third studio album by Japanese rock band Coldrain. Recorded at House of Loud in Elmwood Park, New Jersey with producer David Bendeth. It was released on April 17, 2013 in Japan by VAP. The album would also later be released by Hopeless Records on June 23, 2014 in Europe and on June 24, 2014 in North America as a reissue upon being signed internationally for the first time, making ''The Revelation'' their first album to be released worldwide. "Don't Speak" is a song by American rock band No Doubt from their third studio album, ''Tragic Kingdom'' (1995). It was released as the third single from ''Tragic Kingdom'' in the United States on April 15, 1996, by Interscope Records.
