Mica (footballer, Born 1904)
Alfredo Pereira de Mello, commonly known as Mica, (15 October 1904 – 10 March 1989) was a Brazilian football player who played as a midfielder. Mica is considered one of the best players that the baiano football ever produced and one of its first heroes. He also was a member of the Brazilian squad at the 1923 Copa America. Career Mica started his career from the Yankee and won the Torneio Início da Bahia of 1921. Botafogo-BA which was one of the biggest clubs in Bahia at the time signed him in 1922 and he led them to two championship titles. Nilo Murtinho Braga, best known as ''Nilo'' (April 3, 1903 – February 7, 1975) was an association footballer in forward striker role. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During his career (1918–1937) he played for América-RN, Fluminense and Botafogo. He won six Rio de Janeiro State Tournament, four consecutives (1924, 1930, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1935) and for three time winning top goalscorer in 1924, 1927 and 1933. The Campeonato Baiano is the football league of the state of Bahia, Brazil. The championship has been played since 1905 without interruption. 2020 format First stage: 10 teams are included in one group, playing once only against all teams in the group. The four best teams qualify to the semifinals, while the last-placed team is relegated to the Second Level. Final stage The four best teams play in a two-legged knockout tie, with the first facing the fourth and the second facing the third placed. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
