Campeonato Baiano
The Campeonato Baiano is the football league of the state of Bahia, Brazil. The championship has been played since 1905 without interruption. 2020 format First stage: 10 teams are included in one group, playing once only against all teams in the group. The four best teams qualify to the semifinals, while the last-placed team is relegated to the Second Level. Final stage The four best teams play in a two-legged knockout tie, with the first facing the fourth and the second facing the third placed. The winner of each Semifinal qualify for the Finals, which occur in the same way. The winners of the finals are the champions. In case that two teams end tied after a round, those with the best record in the first stage qualify. The champion qualify for the Copa do Nordeste and the Copa do Brasil of the next year, while the second and the third-placed teams also qualify for the national cup. The Brazilian Football Confederation ( pt, Confederação Brasileira de Futebol; CBF) is the governing body of football in Brazil. It was founded on Monday, 8 June 1914, as , and renamed Confederação Brasileira de Desportos in 1916. The football confederation, as known today, separated from other sports associations on 24 September 1979. Between 1914 and 1979 it was the governing body, or at least the international reference, for other olympic sports, such as tennis (until the CBT was founded in 1955), athletics (until the CBAt was founded in 1977), handball (until 1979), swimming and waterpolo. Esporte Clube Ypiranga is a football team of Salvador, Bahia. Its colours are yellow and black. With 10 titles of the Campeonato Baiano, it has the third-most titles in the Bahia state championship, coming behind Vitória and Bahia, with 27 and 45 titles, respectively. History Esporte Clube Ypiranga was founded on 7 September 1906, originating itself from ''Sport Club Sete de Setembro'', founded on 17 April 1904. it is one of the oldest football teams in Bahia.
