Melodifestivalen 1991
Sweden entered and won the Eurovision Song Contest 1991, held in Rome, Italy. Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television continued using their successful Melodifestivalen contest to select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. Melodifestivalen 1991 was held on 31 March, where ten artists competed to sing for Sweden. Carola Häggkvist won the competition after competing for her second time, having come third in 1983. She sang the song "Fångad av en stormvind". Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1991 Melodifestivalen 1991 was the selection for the 31st song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 30th time that this system of picking a song had been used. 1,323 songs were submitted to SVT for the competition. Pernilla Nina Elisabeth Wahlgren (born 24 December 1967) is a Swedish singer and actress. She has sung in Melodifestivalen several times; her 1985 entry titled " Piccadilly Circus" became popular and successful. She has acted in several plays and films, playing roles including Esmeralda in the Academy Award-winning ''Fanny and Alexander''. She has twice received the Guldmasken award for her work in theater. Career Acting Wahlgren's first acting job, at the age of four, was alongside her mother in the television play ''Den längsta dagen'' (). She attended Adolf Fredrik's Music School and was also part of the Saltsjöbaden theater. The Eurovision Song Contest 1969 was the 14th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Madrid, Spain, following the country's victory at the with the song "La, la, la" by Massiel. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE), the contest was held at the Teatro Real on 29 March 1969 and was hosted by Spanish television presenter and actress Laurita Valenzuela. Amina Annabi ( ar, أمينة العنابي, Amīna al-ʿAnnābī; born 5 March 1962) is a French-Tunisian singer-songwriter and actress. She finished second in the tied 1991 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Rome, after a countback, scoring equal 146 points alongside Carola from Sweden. Early life Amina was born into a family of musicians. Her father is French and her mother is Tunisian. Sharon Birgitta Dyall (born 28 December 1962) is a Swedish singer, actress and voice actress. She became famous in the late 1980s when she acted in the SVT TV series ''Varuhuset''. She has since become known as a singer of soul and jazz music and as a musical performer. Jim Jidhed (born February 23, 1963), sometimes known as Jim Willy Jidhed, is a Swedish rock singer. Jidhed's first major break was as the lead singer for the rock band Alien in the late 1980s with the ballad "Only One Woman". After that he released his first solo album called ''Jim'', which included the cover songs "Wild Young And Free", " Silence is Golden", "Don't Lose Any Sleep" and "Love Hurts". Bobby Ljunggren (born 1961) is a Swedish songwriter. He has entered the Eurovision Song Contest as a composer six times, five times for his native Sweden (1995, 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010), and once for Lithuania, in 2005.
