Melanie Fronckowiak
Melanie "Mel" Nunes Fronckowiak (; born 16 January 1988) is a Brazilian actress, writer, and TV host. Fronckowiak became known after starring in several advertising and TV commercials while working as a model in São Paulo, at the Ford Models agency, which led her to participate in the Brazilian teen telenovela ''Rebelde'', playing the character of Carla. In 2013, Fronckowiak launched herself as a writer. In her first book, ''Inclassificável: Memórias da Estrada'', she tells the experiences she lived traveling around forty Brazilian cities with the band Rebeldes. Early life The daughter of psychologist Berenice Nunes and André Fronckowiak, Melanie was born in Araranguá, in the state of Santa Catarina and raised in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul. Araranguá
Araranguá is a city located in the southern part of Santa Catarina state, in the south of Brazil. It has 68,867 inhabitants and was settled mainly by Portuguese and Italians. Araranguá is known as "A Cidade das Avenidas" ("''The City of the Avenues''") because of its wide roads. History Until the 18th century, the city was inhabited mostly by Carijós and Kaingang Indians. These ethnics groups disappeared after the arrival of the first Europeans settlers. HBO Latin America Group
HBO Latin America was a company that owned and distributed several television channels in the region of Latin America. It was originally founded as a joint venture between WarnerMedia, Time Warner and Ole Distribution, Ole Communications in 1991 with the launch of HBO in the region. The HBO Brasil, HBO Brazilian channel was launched in 1994. In 1990s Sony and The Walt Disney Company, Disney became shareholders and left in 2010. The company later began distributing other channels from companies such as Turner, Sony, A&E and NBCUniversal. In October 2019, WarnerMedia announced an agreement with Ole to acquire the latter's minority interest. HBO Brasil, which is another joint venture of HBO with Ole was not affected by the transaction.
