The Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo () is a faculty within the University of Sarajevo in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, dedicated to the performing arts. History The Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo was officially opened in 1981 with the inaugural Department of Acting. This was followed by the opening of the Department of Directing in 1989, the Department of Dramaturgy in 1994 and the Department of Production in 2010. An important segment of the academy's practice is its cooperation with the Open Stage "Obala", a prominent Sarajevo theater, where students present their works along with professional actors, directors and writers. ''Viza za budućnost'' () was the first post-independence Bosnian TV series. Production started on June 22, 2002 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first episode was aired on September 22, 2002. The final episode was filmed in Sarajevo on August 25, 2007 but was never aired. ''Viza za budućnost'' eventually became one of the region's most popular sitcoms.
