Academy Of Performing Arts In Sarajevo
The Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo () is a faculty within the University of Sarajevo in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, dedicated to the performing arts. History The Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo was officially opened in 1981 with the inaugural Department of Acting. This was followed by the opening of the Department of Directing in 1989, the Department of Dramaturgy in 1994 and the Department of Production in 2010. An important segment of the academy's practice is its cooperation with the Open Stage "Obala", a prominent Sarajevo theater, where students present their works along with professional actors, directors and writers. The need for the school arose because, according to data from the year 1981, Bosnia and Herzegovina theaters had around 180 employees of which only 24 had the appropriate academic qualifications. Danis Tanović
Danis Tanović (born 20 February 1969) is a Bosnian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for having directed and written the script for the 2001 Bosnian movie '' No Man's Land'' which won him many awards, including an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film among many others. Tanović has also written and directed the award-winning Bosnian films ''An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker'' and ''Death in Sarajevo''. He is regarded as one of the best Bosnian directors and screenwriters of all time, and also one of the best from Southeast Europe. Haris Pašović
Haris Pašović (born 16 July 1961) is a Bosnian theatre director. Over the course of his career, he has also worked as a playwright, producer, choreographer, performer, and designer. He is best known for his productions of Wedekind's “ Spring Awakening”. He is the artistic leader of the East West Theatre Company in Sarajevo and tenured Professor of Directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. Helena Minić-Matanić (born 8 March 1979) is a Croatian film, stage and television actress. Her debut role was in the 2003 multiple award-winning Bosnian film ''Remake''. Biography Helena Minić was born in Pula. She attended a drama school in her hometown and graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo in 2002. Her first roles were in soap operas in Zagreb. She has worked in the Istrian National Theatre, and in theatres in Virovitica and Zagreb. She received the Croatian Society of Dramatic Artists award. The Palme d'Or (; en, Golden Palm) is the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival. It was introduced in 1955 by the festival's organizing committee. Ademir Kenović (born September 14, 1950) is a Bosnian film director and producer. He graduated from the University of Sarajevo in 1975. In 1972–73 he studied film, English literature and art at the Denison University in Ohio. His films include ''Kuduz'' (1989) and '' A Little Bit of Soul'' (1987).
