Medellín Municipality is a municipality in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. It is located in central zone of Veracruz, about 100 km from state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 370.14 km2. The municipality of Medellín is delimited to the north by Veracruz, to the north-east by Boca del Río, to the east by Alvarado, to the south by Tlalixcoyan and to the west by Jamapa. The municipal seat is the town of Medellín. Veracruz (), formally Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave (), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave), is one of the 31 states which, along with Mexico City, comprise the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. Xalapa
Xalapa or Jalapa (, ), officially Xalapa-Enríquez (), is the capital city of the Mexican state of Veracruz and the name of the surrounding municipality. In the 2005 census the city reported a population of 387,879 and the municipality of which it serves as municipal seat reported a population of 413,136. The municipality has an area of 118.45 km2. Xalapa lies near the geographic center of the state and is the second-largest city in the state after the city of Veracruz to the southeast. Boca del Río is a city and municipality located in the center of the Mexican state of Veracruz. The small city of Boca del Río serves as the seat of the municipality. Alvarado (municipality)
Alvarado is one of the 212 municipalities of the Mexican state of Veracruz. The municipality is part of the state's Papaloapan Region and its municipal seat is established at the homonymous city of Alvarado. History In 1816, the citizens of the village of San Cristóbal de Alvarado sought the designation of ''Town'' from Ferdinand VII, King of Spain. The King granted the village the title of Town on 8 September 1816 by Royal Decree, which had a cost of 92,800 maravedís. Almost two years later, on 5 September 1818 the same Ferdinand VII authorized the first Honorable ''Ayuntamiento'' or city council. On 3 October 1818, the first City Council was established with Tomás Hondal serving as first Mayor. Jamapa
Jamapa is a municipality in the Mexican state of Veracruz which stands on Federal Highway 137. Its name comes from Nahuatl Xam-a-pan, meaning 'in the river of the adobes'. The municipality was established on 17 February 1870. It had a population 11,132 in 2020. Green Chile
