The PBA Developmental League, or PBA D-League, is the Philippine Basketball Association's official minor league basketball organization. History The PBA D-League was conceptualized after the collapse of the proposed merger between the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and Liga Pilipinas after the staging of the ''Tournament of the Philippines'' which was composed by PBL and Liga Pilipinas teams. PBA Commissioner Chito Salud proposed the formation of a PBA D-League, which will fill the void left by the PBL. On January 25, 2011, the PBA Board of Governors approved the proposal. The maiden tournament, named " Foundation Cup" began on March 12, 2011 at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan. San Juan, officially the City of San Juan ( fil, Lungsod ng San Juan), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. UST Growling Tigers
The UST Growling Tigers are the college athletic teams representing the University of Santo Tomas in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. They hold the most UAAP Overall Championships with 44 Seniors' Overall Championships (out of 73 seasons) and 21 Juniors' Overall Championships (out of 26 seasons). The San Sebastian Golden Stags (also known as SSC-R Stags) are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) basketball team of the San Sebastian College – Recoletos. The AMA Online Education Titans are a professional basketball team that play in the Filbasket. They are primarily base of varsity students from the AMA Computer University. History The AMA Computer University wanted to participate in college leagues such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) but can't manage to gain membership due to these league being established already. The school's basketball team briefly participated in the now defunct Philippine Basketball League and later entered the PBA Developmental League (PBA D-League) in 2014 as the AMA Online Education Titans.
