Mayday (Coldrain Song)
"Mayday" (stylised in all caps) is a song by Japanese rock band Coldrain. It is the fifth single from their sixth studio album '' The Side Effects'', produced by Michael Baskette, written by Masato Hayakawa and Ryo Yokochi, and was released on 2 November 2019. "Mayday" features Ryo Kinoshita from Japanese metalcore band Crystal Lake. "Mayday" is the second anime opening for ''Fire Force''. "Mayday" also samples the Pakistan International Airlines Flight 661 mayday distress signal in the song's intro. Due to the success of the single being on the anime, it started rotating in circles around the metalcore scene elevating the band to new heights. It would also eventually become the first song by the band to reach over 10 million streams on Spotify. As of 2022, "Mayday" has since been viewed and streamed more than 50 million times worldwide. Coldrain
are a Japanese Rock music, rock band from Nagoya, Japan, who were formed in 2007. The band combines melodic singing with screams typical of the post-hardcore genre. Although the band is Japanese, all of their songs are written in English. The lineup consists of lead vocalist Masato Hayakawa, guitarists Ryo Yokochi (Y.K.C.) and Kazuya Sugiyama (Sugi), bassist Ryo Shimizu (RxYxO) and drummer Katsuma Minatani. Hayakawa has a Japanese father and an American mother and speaks both Japanese and English fluently. The band's first two albums, ''Final Destination (album), Final Destination'' and ''The Enemy Inside (Coldrain album), The Enemy Inside'', were both released exclusively in their home country of Japan. "Gone" is a song by Japanese rock band Coldrain. It is the lead single for their fourth studio album '' Vena'', produced by Brandon Paddock, written by Masato Hayakawa, Ryo Yokochi and Brandon Paddock, and was released on 16 September 2015. It was the first song written for the album, and received critical success among critics. Pakistan International Airlines Flight 661 was a Pakistani domestic passenger flight from Chitral to Islamabad, operated by Pakistan's flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines. On 7 December 2016, the aircraft serving the route, an ATR 42-500 twin-turboprop, lost control and crashed near Havelian following an engine failure. All 47 people on board died, including singer-turned-preacher and entrepreneur Junaid Jamshed, and the Deputy Commissioner of the District of Chitral.
