Maxïmo Park
Maxïmo Park are an English alternative rock band, formed in 2000 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band consists of Paul Smith (vocals), Duncan Lloyd (guitar), and Tom English (drums). The band have released seven studio albums: '' A Certain Trigger'' (2005), ''Our Earthly Pleasures'' (2007), '' Quicken The Heart'' (2009), '' The National Health'' (2012), ''Too Much Information'' (2014), ''Risk to Exist'' (2017) and ''Nature Always Wins'' (2021). The first two albums went gold in the UK and their debut was nominated for the Mercury Prize. History Formation and early releases (2000–2003) The band was created by guitarist Duncan Lloyd and is named after Máximo Gómez Park (also known as Domino Park), located in Little Havana, Miami. ''Risk To Exist'' is the sixth studio album by British indie rock band Maxïmo Park. It was released on 21 April 2017 through their own Daylighting imprint as well as Cooking Vinyl. The album's lead single was first aired on the Steve Lamacq show on BBC 6 Music on 19 January 2017. Background and recording On 14 October 2016, guitarist Duncan Lloyd announced that recording was almost complete on the band's sixth album, then untitled. Writing for the album took place primarily in the UK while recording took place at Wilco's The Loft studio in Chicago through Autumn 2016. The album was produced by Tom Schick, whose previous work includes Wilco, Beck and White Denim and was recorded entirely live. Paul Epworth
Paul Richard Epworth (born 25 July 1974) is an English record producer, songwriter, musician, and remixer. He has worked with artists including Adele, Florence and the Machine, Rihanna, and Maxïmo Park, among many others. He is a member of the Music Producers Guild and is the founder and owner of the independent record label Wolf Tone, which has released music from Glass Animals, Rosie Lowe, and The Horrors. Epworth has won the BRIT Award for Producer of the Year three times, the most recent in 2015. He has won seven Grammy Awards, as well as the Academy Award for Best Original Song for " Skyfall". Album information The title for the album comes from the song "Once, a Glimpse". The songs "The Coast Is Always Changing", "Apply Some Pressure", "Graffiti", " Going Missing" and "I Want You to Stay" were released as singles. The censored version of "Apply Some Pressure" was used on the soundtracks of the video games ''Burnout Revenge'' and ''SSX on Tour''.
