Maxïmo Park are an English alternative rock band, formed in 2000 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band consists of Paul Smith (vocals), Duncan Lloyd (guitar), and Tom English (drums). ''A Certain Trigger'' is the debut studio album by English indie rock band Maxïmo Park. It was released on 16 May 2005 through Warp. Album information The title for the album comes from the song "Once, a Glimpse". The songs "The Coast Is Always Changing", "Apply Some Pressure", "Graffiti", "Going Missing" and "I Want You to Stay" were released as singles. The censored version of "Apply Some Pressure" was used on the soundtracks of the video games ''Burnout Revenge'' and ''SSX on Tour''. An instrumental version of "Going Missing" was used during the end credits of the movie '' Stranger than Fiction''. The album has received Platinum status in the UK. Duncan Lloyd
Duncan Lloyd is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is the lead songwriter and backing vocalist for Maxïmo Park. He also works as a solo artist releasing albums on Warp Records (U.K.), Crash Symbols (U.S.) and is currently on Reveal Records. Working under the name, 'Decade in Exile' as well as his own name, he is also in experimental band Res Band from Derby and alternative rock band Nano Kino. Alongside songwriting Lloyd is an exhibiting painter and photographer. Biography Lloyd also works in soundtrack composition. Paul Smith (musician)
Paul Smith (born 13 March 1979) is an English singer and songwriter. He is best known as the leader singer of indie rock band Maxïmo Park. Biography Born in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, Smith is the eldest of three children, and was educated at Northfield School. He attended Newcastle University completing a BA and MA, studying Art History and English Linguistics, following a 1-year Foundation Studies course at Cleveland College of Art and Design in Hartlepool. He briefly worked as an art teacher at Stockton Riverside College before he was asked to join Maxïmo Park. In 2014 Smith teamed up with Field Music singer Peter Brewis to record an album, ''Frozen by Sight'', derived from his travel writing and featuring string arrangements by Brewis. Paul Epworth
Paul Richard Epworth (born 25 July 1974) is an English record producer, songwriter, musician, and remixer. He has worked with artists including Adele, Florence and the Machine, Rihanna, and Maxïmo Park, among many others. He is a member of the Music Producers Guild and is the founder and owner of the independent record label Wolf Tone, which has released music from Glass Animals, Rosie Lowe, and The Horrors. Epworth has won the BRIT Award for Producer of the Year three times, the most recent in 2015. He has won seven Grammy Awards, as well as the Academy Award for Best Original Song for " Skyfall".
