Maximilian Weyrother
Max Ritter von Weyrother (1783–1833) was Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna from 1813, and Director from 1814 to 1833. His grandfather, Adam Weyrother, a previous Chief Rider at the school, may have known de la Guérinière in Paris. Adam Weyrother traveled to Paris frequently. Maximilian's father and brother Gottlieb were also Chief Riders at the school. Under Max von Weyrother, the Spanish Riding School became the Mecca for riders of the 19th century. Louis Seeger Louis Seeger (1798–1865) was a German equestrian who published several books and was influential in the development of dressage. Spanish Riding School
The Spanish Riding School (german: Spanische Hofreitschule) is an Austrian institution dedicated to the preservation of classical dressage and the training of Lipizzaner horses, based in Vienna, Austria, whose performances in the Hofburg are also a tourist attraction. The leading horses and riders of the school also periodically tour and perform worldwide. It is one of the "Big Four", the most prestigious classical riding academies in the world, alongside the Cadre Noir, the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art, and the Royal Andalusian School. Location The Spanish Riding School is located between Michaelerplatz and Josefsplatz inside the Hofburg in central Vienna. Louis Seeger
Louis Seeger (1798–1865) was a German equestrian who published several books and was influential in the development of dressage. Trained under Maximilian Weyrother, his methods were highly influenced by the great François Robichon de la Guérinière. Seeger passed on this knowledge through his riding school in Berlin, the first private school in Germany, where his students included Gustav Steinbrecht Gustav Steinbrecht (1808–1885) is considered one of the masters of dressage.
