Max Jason Mai
Miroslav Šmajda (also known as Miro Šmajda and Max J Mai, born 27 November 1988 in Košice, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak singer living in Prague. He represented Slovakia in the Eurovision Song Contest, Slovakia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Don't Close Your Eyes (Max Jason Mai song), Don't Close Your Eyes". Life and career Šmajda grew up in eastern Slovakia with his mom, his father is Czech. Šmajda finished in second place in the SuperStar (Czech and Slovak TV series), Czech and Slovak casting show ''SuperStar'' in 2009. In November 2010, he released his first solo album ''Čo sa týka lásky'' (Regarding Love) and in 2013 his second album ''mirosmajda.com''. In 2015 he released a debut album ''Terrapie'' with his band Terrapie and in 2018 album ''Je Tu Léto'' with Czech legendary rock/country band . Don't Close Your Eyes (Max Jason Mai Song)
Slovakia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Don't Close Your Eyes" written and performed by Max Jason Mai, who was internally selected by the Slovak broadcaster Rozhlas a televízia Slovenska (RTVS) to represent Slovakia in the 2012 contest in Baku, Azerbaijan. Max Jason Mai and the song "Don't Close Your Eyes" were announced and presented to the public as the Slovak entry on 7 March 2012. Slovakia was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 12 May 2012. Performing during the show in position 5, "Don't Close Your Eyes" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. ''SuperStar'' (previously known as ''Česko Slovenská SuperStar'') is a joint Czech- Slovak version of the Idol series' ''Pop Idol''. It was merged from '' Česko hledá SuperStar'' and ''SuperStar Search Slovakia'', which previously had three individual seasons each.
