SuperStar (Czech And Slovak TV Series)
''SuperStar'' (previously known as ''Česko Slovenská SuperStar'') is a joint Czech- Slovak version of the Idol series' ''Pop Idol''. It was merged from '' Česko hledá SuperStar'' and ''SuperStar Search Slovakia'', which previously had three individual seasons each. The first season premiered in September 2009 with castings held in Prague, Brno, Bratislava and Košice. It is broadcast on two channels: « TV Nova» (Czech Republic) and «Markíza» (Slovakia) which have also been the broadcast stations for the individual seasons. Also both hosts have been their hosts countries before as have been three out of the four judges. To legitimate a fair chance for each country's contestants to reach the final, twelve of the contestants will compete split into genders and nationalities in the semifinals, guaranteeing a 50% share for each country in the top 12. Ondřej Hejma
Ondřej Hejma (born 3 February 1951) is a Czech singer and songwriter, vocalist of the band Žlutý pes. After graduating, he worked as an interpreter and translator. From 1987, he worked as a correspondent for the Associated Press in Czechoslovakia and later also contributed to other Czech media. Dara Rolins
Dara Rolins (born 7 December 1972) is a Slovak recording artist and entrepreneur. Her music career began at the age of nine, after being cast in the television musical ''Zázračný autobus'' (1981). The early role established a formula for her regular assignments as a child singer, who had no trouble hitting note B6 and possibly above (in the TV series song Strasidla ("Spooks") to a Juraj Jakubisko's TV series Frankenstein's Aunt), and resulted in recording her debut album ''Keby som bola princezná Arabela'' (1983) on OPUS Records. Katarína Knechtová (born March 14, 1981) is a Slovak singer-songwriter and guitarist, originally known for her work with the band Peha. Biography Katarína was born in Prešov, to a Czech mother and Slovak father. In Prešov she attended the Ján Adam Raymann Gymnasium. After finishing school, she studied philosophy. Ben da Silva Cristóvão (born 8 June 1987), known professionally as Ben Cristovao or Benny Cristo, is a Czech singer, lyric writer, sportsman, and actor. He was nominated to represent the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam after winning the national round with the song Kemama. Monkey Business is a Czech funk band. It is one of the projects of its leader Roman Holý, the other being J.A.R.. History The group teamed up at the beginning of 1999. Singer Matěj Ruppert came from the group Leguar GR, Oldřich Krejčoves played in Pan Pot, Pavel Mrázek and Martin Houdek came from Dorota B.B. and Tonya Graves came from dance oriented Liquid Harmony.
