Matías Ariel Sánchez (; born 18 August 1987) is an Argentine footballer who play for Brown de Adrogué. Club career Sánchez made his way through Racing Club's youth system to make his debut in a 0–3 defeat to Boca Juniors on March 5, 2006. He became a regular in the Racing team, appearing in 15 of the 19 games during the 2006 Apertura tournament. Sánchez was part of the Estudiantes de La Plata squad that won the 2009 Copa Libertadores. Following the 2012 Major League Soccer season, Sánchez had been rumored as a target of the Columbus Crew. On February 8, 2013, Sánchez officially signed with the club. Sanchez was released following one season in Columbus. On 16 August 2017, Sánchez signed for A-League club Melbourne Victory on a one-year deal. Estudiantes De La Plata
Club Estudiantes de La Plata ( lit. "Students from La Plata"), simply referred to as Estudiantes de La Plata , is an Argentine professional sports club based in La Plata. The club's football team currently competes in the Primera División, where it has spent most of its history. The club is a successful team in Argentina. In 1967, Estudiantes was the first team outside the traditional " big five" to win a professional league title. It has won four additional league titles and has had greater international success, having won six international titles. 2006–07 Argentine Primera División
The 2006–07 Argentina Primera Division was the 116th season of first division football in Argentina. Estudiantes (LP) won the Torneo Apertura and San Lorenzo won the Torneo Clausura. Belgrano and Quilmes were relegated to the Primera B Nacional and Huracan and Tigre were promoted after winning the relegation playoff against Godoy Cruz and Nueva Chicago respectively. Torneo Apertura Championship playoff Boca Juniors and Estudiantes LP ended up tied in points at the end of the 19 weeks of regular season. Tournament rules establish that, unlike any other position on the table, if two or more teams are equal in points at the end of play, goal difference does not count and a playoff game is required. A total of 20 teams competed in two championships —the Apertura and Clausura— over the course of the season, which started on August 6, 2010 and ended on June 30, 2011, one day prior to the start of the 2011 Copa América, held in Argentina. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". 2007 South American Youth Championship
The 2007 South American Youth Championship (Sudamericano Sub-20) was the 23rd edition of the competition. It was played in Paraguay between 7 and 28 January 2007, and was contested by all ten U-20 national football teams of CONMEBOL. This was the fourth time Paraguay hosted the competition. Brazil finished undefeated and won their ninth title, beating rivals Argentina in the final. Format The teams are separated in two groups of five, and each team plays four matches in a pure round-robin stage.
