Matthew Keech
Matthew Keech (born 21 October 1970) is an English former cricketer and cricket coach. Keech was born at Hampstead in October 1979. He played for England Young Cricketers in both Youth Test and One Day International matches in 1989 and 1990. Keech made his debut in first-class cricket for Middlesex against Cambridge University at Fenner's in 1991, and went onto make fourteen appearances in that seasons County Championship. In that same season, he also made his debut in List A one-day cricket against Surrey in the Refuge Assurance League, with him making fourteen one-day appearances in 1991. He did not appear for Middlesex in 1992, but did return to the side for the 1993 season; during this, he made five first-class and fifteen one-day appearances. Keech left Middlesex at the end of that season, with Mark Ramprakash putting this down to a feeling that he would do better playing elsewhere. 1991 Refuge Assurance League
The 1991 Refuge Assurance League was the twenty-third competing of what was generally known as the Sunday League. The competition was won for the first time by Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy
The 2001 Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 1 May and 1 September 2001. It was the first Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy following its change of name from the NatWest Trophy, with new sponsors Cheltenham & Gloucester plc. The tournament was won by Somerset who defeated Leicesterhire by 41 runs in the final at Lord's. Format The 18 first-class counties, were joined by all twenty Minor Counties, plus Huntingdonshire. Dean Park Cricket Ground
Dean Park is a cricket ground in Bournemouth, England, currently used by Bournemouth University Cricket Club, as well as by Parley Cricket Club and Suttoners Cricket Club. It was formerly used by Hampshire and Dorset County Cricket Clubs. This venue has now been bought by Bournemouth Park School. This building has since been transformed into a children's daycare facility. History Dean Park has hosted 343 first-class matches since 1897, but none since 1992. There have also been 77 List A games at the ground, the most recent being in 2010. Bedfordshire County Cricket Club is one of 20 Minor County clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Bedfordshire. The team is currently a member of the Minor Counties Championship Eastern Division and plays in the MCCA Knockout Trophy. Bedfordshire played List A matches occasionally from 1967 until 2005 but is not classified as a List A team. History Cricket had probably reached Bedfordshire by the end of the 17th century.
