Dean Park Cricket Ground
Dean Park is a cricket ground in Bournemouth, England, currently used by Bournemouth University Cricket Club, as well as by Parley Cricket Club and Suttoners Cricket Club. It was formerly used by Hampshire and Dorset County Cricket Clubs. This venue has now been bought by Bournemouth Park School. This building has since been transformed into a children's daycare facility. History Dean Park has hosted 343 first-class matches since 1897, but none since 1992. There have also been 77 List A games at the ground, the most recent being in 2010. Bournemouth () is a coastal resort town in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council area of Dorset, England. At the 2011 census, the town had a population of 183,491, making it the largest town in Dorset. List Of Dorset County Cricket Club Grounds
The Dorset County Cricket Club was established in February 1896. Since then, it has played minor counties cricket since 1897 and played List A cricket from 1968 to 2004, using a different number of home grounds during that time. Their first minor counties fixture in 1897 was against Wiltshire at the Recreation Ground, Blandford Forum, while their first List A match came 71 years later against Bedfordshire in the 1968 Gillette Cup at Sherborne School. List Of Hampshire County Cricket Club Grounds
Hampshire County Cricket Club was established in August 1863. Since then, the club has played first-class and List A cricket at a number of different home grounds. Their first home first-class match was against Sussex in 1864 at the Antelope Ground, Southampton. The current headquarters of Hampshire County Cricket Club is the Rose Bowl, which located on the edge of Southampton. This venue is also used by England as a Test and One Day International venue. As of 12 September 2011, Hampshire have played 1,396 first-class matches and 925 List A matches at 12 different home grounds. They have also played 45 Twenty20 matches, all of which have taken place at the Rose Bowl. Vyvian John Pike (born 13 August 1969) is a former English cricketer. Pike was a right-handed batsman who bowled leg break. Pike made his debut for Dorset in the 1993 Minor Counties Championship against Cornwall. In Pike's first spell with the club, he represented Dorset in 5 Minor Counties Championship matches. In 1994, Pike made his first-class debut for Gloucestershire against Cambridge University. From 1994 to 1995, he played 14 first-class matches for the county, with his final first-class match coming against Glamorgan. In his 14 first-class matches for the county he scored 156 runs at a batting average of 12.00, with a high score of 27. Matthew Thomas Gray Elliott (born 28 September 1971) is a former cricketer from Australia, who played as a left-handed opening batsman. Beginnings with Victoria After he made his debut for Victoria in the 1992–1993 season, he soon established himself as one of the top opening batsmen in Australian domestic cricket, before progressing his way through to the Bendigo and District Cricket Association playing for the Bendigo Cricket Club in his role as an opening batsman. Test career Elliott was called up to the Australian national team in the 1996–97 season, making his Test debut against the West Indies in November 1996. Glamorgan County Cricket Club ( cy, Criced Morgannwg) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales.
