Match for Michaela was a Gaelic football match played under floodlights at Casement Park in Belfast on Saturday 3 November 2012. The match was held in memory of Murder of Michaela McAreavey, Michaela McAreavey. Background All-Ireland Senior Champions Donegal county football team, Donegal played a team comprising players from the rest of Ulster GAA, Ulster in an event intended to raise funds for The Michaela Foundation. Match for Michaela was launched on 25 October 2012. Match for Michaela marked the first occasion that the Donegal senior football team played since winning the 2012 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final on 23 September. The game took place ahead of a planned redevelopment of Casement Park. Mark McHugh (born 22 August 1990) is an Irish Gaelic footballer and coach who plays for Cill Chartha and, formerly, the Donegal county team. He is the brother of Ryan and the son of Martin. He won one All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (2012) and three Ulster Senior Football Championships ( 2011, 2012 and 2018) with his county. CLG Ghaoth Dobhair is a Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA club based in the parish of Gaoth Dobhair (anglicize to Gweedore) in northwest County Donegal, Republic of Ireland. Eamon McGee
Eamon McGee (born 26 April 1984) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Gaoth Dobhair and also, formerly, for the Donegal county team (between 2004 and 2016). He is the older brother of Neil McGee. From Gweedore in County Donegal, he won one All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, three Ulster Senior Football Championships and one National Football League with his county and an Ulster title with his club. CLG Ard an Rátha is a GAA club based in Ardara in County Donegal. The ''Ard an Rátha'' in the club's title is the place name in Irish, while ''CLG'' refers to "GAA". They are one of the strongholds of Gaelic football in Donegal. History The club was founded on 21 October 1921. Paddy McGrath
Paddy McGrath (born 2 February 1989) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Ard an Rátha and also, formerly, for the Donegal county team. Though not from a footballing family, McGrath would equal his club's most famous player Anthony Molloy in winning the Sam Maguire Cup (though Molloy was captain) and surpass his haul of Ulster Senior Football Championships. Playing career McGrath is not from a footballing family. He lived at Loughros Point in Ardara. His local club's under-10 manager Eamon McNelis spent much time convincing a reluctant McGrath that he had potential to be more than a spectator. Anthony Thompson is a Gaelic footballer who plays for Naomh Conaill and, formerly, the Donegal county team. He plays at wing back. He won one All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and four Ulster Senior Football Championships with his county. Leo McLoone
Leo McLoone (born 1989) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Naomh Conaill and also, formerly, the Donegal county team. A versatile player, often employed as a forward, he has been an important source of goals for club and county. McLoone made 109 appearances for his county, winning five Ulster Senior Football Championships and one All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Rory Kavanagh ( ga, Ruairí Ó Caomhánach; born 23 August 1982) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player with St Eunan's and the Donegal county team. Naomh Conaill CLCG is a GAA club for the Glenties parish in south-west County Donegal. As well as the town of Glenties, the club also covers the area to the village of Fintown and the areas of Kilraine, The Glen and Maas down to the Gweebara Bridge. 2012 Donegal Senior Football Championship
The 2012 Donegal Senior Football Championship was contested by senior Gaelic football clubs under the auspices of Donegal GAA. Format There was a preliminary round. The first round involved eight two-legged ties played home and away. The eight winning teams progressed to the quarter-finals from which the four winning teams progressed to the semifinals from which the two winning teams progressed to the final.
