Mark McHugh
Mark McHugh (born 22 August 1990) is an Irish Gaelic footballer and coach who plays for Cill Chartha and, formerly, the Donegal county team. He is the brother of Ryan and the son of Martin. He won one All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (2012) and three Ulster Senior Football Championships ( 2011, 2012 and 2018) with his county. Playing career Club In his early career, McHugh admitted his club did not have many big games. He won the 2017 Donegal Senior Football Championship, scoring the opening point in the first minute of the final. It was the first time his club had won the title in 24 years, having been defeated by Glenswilly at the same stage the previous year. Inter-county Underage McHugh did not play at minor level, what with the Leaving Certificate and a broken collar bone. Letterkenny
Letterkenny ( ga, Leitir Ceanainn , meaning 'hillside of the O'Cannons'), nicknamed 'the Cathedral Town', is the largest and most populous town in County Donegal, a county in Ulster, the northern province in Ireland. Letterkenny lies on the River Swilly in East Donegal in the north-west of Ulster, and has a population of 19,274. Ulster Under-21 Football Championship
The Ulster GAA Football Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Ulster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county football competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Ulster. The championship was contested as the Ulster Under-21 Championship between 1963 and 2016 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2018. It is sponsored by EirGrid. The final, currently held in March, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during a three-week period, and the results determine which team receives the J. J. Fahy Cup. The Down County Board ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae An Dún) or Down GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Down, Northern Ireland. The County Board is responsible for preparing the Down county teams in the various Gaelic sporting codes; football, hurling, camogie and handball. The county football team was the second from the province of Ulster to win an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC), following Cavan, and also the first team from Northern Ireland to win the Sam Maguire Cup since partition, doing so in 1960. Donegal Democrat
The ''Donegal Democrat'' is a twice-weekly local newspaper, covering County Donegal, Ireland. The paper was traditionally based in the town of Ballyshannon in the south of the county, but now has offices in Donegal Town (southern edition) and Letterkenny (northern edition). The ''Donegal Democrat'' is the largest paper focused solely on County Donegal, and its current managing editor is Chris Ashmore. Jim Gavin (born 1 July 1971) is an Irish List of Gaelic football managers, Gaelic football manager and former Gaelic football, player. He was the manager of the senior Dublin county football team, Dublin county team from 2012 to 2019, becoming the county's most successful manager in terms of major titles won. Gavin is regarded as one of the best Manager (Gaelic games), managers in the modern game. Jim McGuinness (born 16 November 1972) is an association football coach and former Gaelic footballer, coach and Manager (Gaelic games), manager, who won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship as both player and manager with the Donegal county football team, Donegal county team.
