María José Quintanilla
María José Quintanilla (born 17 February 1990), also nicknamed “Coté”, is a Chilean singer, songwriter, and actress. She began singing as a child and participated in numerous singing contests in her teens. She signed with Sony Music's Chilean label at age 13 and has since recorded eight albums, two of which were certified platinum. Quintanilla's televised career in the early 2000s is credited for helping Mexican music gain more acceptance in Chile. She began singing as a child and was a member of Los Maipucitos, a children's folk ensemble which performed in children's music festivals. She began competing in singing contests at age 11. Mariachi
Mariachi (, , ) is a genre of regional Mexican music that dates back to at least the 18th century, evolving over time in the countryside of various regions of western Mexico. The usual mariachi group today consists of as many as eight violins, two trumpets and at least one guitar, including a high-pitched vihuela and an acoustic bass guitar called a guitarrón, and all players taking turns singing lead and doing backup vocals. From the 19th to 20th century, migrations from rural areas into Guadalajara, along with the Mexican government's cultural promotion gradually re-labeled it as ''son'' style, with its alternative name of ''mariachi'' becoming used for the 'urban' form. Ranchera () or canción ranchera is a genre of traditional music of Mexico. It dates to before the years of the Mexican Revolution.
