Marvin James (born 27 October 1989 in Reichenbach im Kandertal) is a Swiss snowboarder, specializing in snowboard cross. James competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Switzerland. In the snowboard cross, he finished 3rd in his 1/8 round race, advancing to the quarter-finals, where he did not finish and failed to advance, ending up 21st overall. As of September 2014, his best showing at the World Championships is 23rd, in the 2011 snowboard cross. James made his World Cup debut in February 2008. Reichenbach Im Kandertal
Reichenbach im Kandertal is a village and municipality in the Frutigen-Niedersimmental administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. Until 1957 it was known as Reichenbach bei Frutigen. Besides the village of Reichenbach, the municipality includes several other settlements, including Aris, Faltsche, Griesalp, Kien, Kiental, Ramslauenen, Reudlen, Scharnachtal, Schwandi and Wengi. Montafon ( in local dialect: "''Muntafu''") is a 39 km long valley in the westernmost Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg. It is traversed by the river Ill (Vorarlberg) and extends from the city of Bludenz and the Verwall Alps in the north, to the Silvretta and Rätikon mountain range in the south. The FIS Snowboard World Cup is an annual snowboarding competition, arranged by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 1994. Since its inauguration, different disciplines have been added and removed, along with categories used to group them. The FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2011 was an international snowboarding competition held from January 14 to 22, 2011, in La Molina and Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) by the FIS Snowboarding World Championship, All the competitions were held in La Molina, except the big air competition, which was held in Barcelona.
