Martijn Van Der Linden
Martijn van der Linden (born 1979) is a Dutch illustrator. Career Van der Linden illustrated the book ''Stem op de okapi'' written by Edward van de Vendel and they both won the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs in 2016 for this work. For this book he also received a Vlag en Wimpel award in 2016. In 2017, van der Linden won the Gouden Penseel award for illustrating the book ''Tangramkat'', written by his wife Maranke Rinck. The book includes a seven-piece tangram puzzle which can be reorganised into pictures of various animals. The illustrations in this book were also part of an exhibition in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam that year. In 2018, he received a Vlag en Wimpel award for illustrating the book ''Van wie is die staart?'' written by Joukje Akveld. In 2020, he donated a large part of his personal collection of illustrations to the Literatuurmuseum in The Hague, Netherlands. Jan Terlouw
Jan Cornelis Terlouw (born 15 November 1931) is a retired Dutch politician, physicist and author. A member of the Democrats 66 (D66) party, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 1981 to 1982 under Prime Minister Dries van Agt. Terlouw studied Physics and Mathematics at the Utrecht University simultaneously obtaining Master of Physics and Mathematics degree and worked as a researcher at the FOM before finishing his thesis and graduated as a Doctor of Science in Nuclear physics. Terlouw worked as a nuclear physics researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from February 1960 until April 1962 and for the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) from August 1965 until December 1966. Zilveren Griffel
The Gouden Griffel (Golden Stylus) is an award given to authors of children's or teenagers' literature in the Netherlands. History Since 1971, it is awarded each year during the Dutch Children's Books Week, by the Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (Dutch Book Promotion Society) for the best children's books written in the past year. Between 1954 and 1970, one book per year was declared the "children's book of the year". Since then, ''griffels'' are awarded in several categories. Only novels written in Dutch are eligible for the ''gouden griffel''. However, the runner-up awards (Silver ''griffels'') can also be given to translated works. Aside from these, the ''Gouden Penseel'' (golden paintbrush) is awarded to the best illustrated children's books (with silver ''penseel'' as a runner-up), and since 1997 the Gouden Zoen (golden kiss, with silver as a runner-up) is awarded to the best books for teenagers. Paul van Loon (born 17 April 1955) is a Dutch writer of children's literature. His best-known books are the series about ' and the series '. A musical and a movie have also been made of both. The series ' also became one of his best known works after the appearance of a television series (') and of an amusement park show in Efteling. Margaretha Anna (Bibi) Dumon Tak (born 21 December 1964) is a Dutch writer of children's literature. After completing her degree in Dutch Literature, in 2001 Bibi Dumon Tak began her career as a children's non-fiction author with ''Het koeienboek'' (The Cow Book, 2001). Dolf Verroen (born 20 November 1928) is a Dutch writer of children's literature. Career Early in his career, he worked for the newspaper ''Het Vrije Volk''. Verroen made his debut in 1955 with the poetry collection ''In los verband''. His first children's book ''Het boek van Jan-Kees'', later republished as ''Paarden, van die enge grote'', was published in 1958 although he wrote the story originally between age 14 and 15. Benny Lindelauf (born 15 December 1964) is a Dutch writer of children's literature. Career Lindelauf made his debut in 1998 with the book ''Omhoogvaldag'', a collection of sixteen short stories.
