Marselisborg Gymnasium
Marselisborg Gymnasium is a school of secondary education in Aarhus, Denmark. The school is a financially independent self-owning educational institution under the Danish state. The school offers the 3-year Matriculation examination (STX) programme within five main branches; natural sciences, social sciences, language, music and, since 2006, sports through a partnership with Team Danmark. Marselisborg Gymnasium was founded in 1898 by ''Olaf Gudme'' under the name ''Marselisborg Boarding and Learned School''. The school became a popular alternative to Aarhus Katedralskole and was first expanded in 1904. From 1916 the school became owned by Aarhus Municipality and in 1973 by Aarhus County. In the Danish Municipal Reform of 2007 the Danish counties were abolished and Marselisborg Gymnasium became independent and self-owning like most other Danish educational institutions. Jørgen Leth
Jørgen Leth (; born 14 June 1937) is a Danish poet and film director who is considered a leading figure in experimental documentary film making. Most notable are his documentary ''A Sunday in Hell'' (1977) and his surrealistic short film ''The Perfect Human'' (1968). He is also a sports commentator for Danish television and is represented by the film production company Sunset Productions. Early life Born on 14 June 1937 in Aarhus, Denmark, Leth studied literature and anthropology in Aarhus and Copenhagen and was a cultural critic (jazz, theatre, film) for leading Danish newspapers from 1959 to 1968. His interest in Polish anthropologist Bronisław Malinowski had a profound influence on his work. He traveled in Africa (1961), South America and India (1966) and Southeast Asia (1970–71). Nicolai Wammen
Nicolai Halby Wammen (born 7 February 1971, in Holbæk) is a Danish politician of the Social Democrats who has been serving as Minister for Finance in the government of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen since 2019. A native and lifelong resident of Denmark's second-largest city, Aarhus, he served as mayor. On the national level, he has served as Minister of European Affairs (2011–2013) and as Minister of Defence (2013–2015). Kurt Thyboe
Kurt Thyboe also known as Thybo (24 January 1940 – 3 November 2021) was a Danish author, journalist, sports commentator and performer. He is very well known for his boxing match promotions and boxing ring announcements. In March 2010 he released his single "Storyteller" in collaboration with writer and poet Claus Høxbroe. It was arranged and produced by Adam Ashtiani and Stik op Jakob, with guest appearances by trumpet player Miloud Sabri and Carsten Bentzen on vocals. He also appeared in a very popular rap single and music video "Hardhitter" by Danish rap and musical band Kaliber that features boxer Rudy Markussen and ring announcements by Kurt Thyboe. Tage Skou-Hansen (12 February 1925 – 11 November 2015) was a Danish writer, editor and scholar. Overview Born in the town of Fredericia, Tage Skou-Hansen graduated from Marselisborg Gymnasium in Aarhus and became a student of history of literature at Aarhus University. As a student, he worked as an editor of two literary magazines, one of which was '' Heretica'', before the publication of his first novel, ''De Nøgne Træer'' (The Bare Trees), in 1957. After receiving his degree, Tage taught literature at Askov Højskole for nine years, before concentrating on writing from 1967. Apart from his novels, Tage Skou-Hansen's works also includes two plays and a realized film manuscript. He has received many prizes and scholarships throughout his career.
