Mark Harrison (footballer)
Mark Simon Harrison (born 11 December 1960) is an English professional football manager and former player. He kept goal in the English Football League for Port Vale and Stoke City, and also played non-League football for Hellenic, Kettering Town, Stafford Rangers, and Telford United. He managed Stafford Rangers for a brief spell and then from 2000 he began coaching clubs and nations in Asia and Africa, including the Bangladesh national team, Fortune, Hurriya, Mpumalanga Black Aces, African Warriors, Bay Stars, Chippa United, Golden Arrows, CAPS United, and Township Rollers. In the 2015–16 season he led Township Rollers to the Botswana Premier League title and the final of the Mascom Top 8 Cup, before he was appointed technical director at South African side Baroka in January 2017. John McGrath (footballer, Born 1938)
John Thomas McGrath (23 August 1938 – 25 December 1998) was an English footballer and manager in the Football League. He played as a defender, and started his career at Bury from 1955 to 1960. He then spent the next eight years with Newcastle United following a £24,000 transfer, helping them to the Second Division title in 1964–65. In 1968, he joined Southampton for a £30,000 fee, where he would spend the final six years of his playing career, although he also played briefly for Brighton & Hove Albion in 1973. In total he played 537 league and cup games in a nineteen-year career in the Football League, scoring six goals. Starting his management career at Port Vale in 1979, he won them promotion out of the Fourth Division in 1982–83. Following this he left to take the reins at Chester City in 1984. The Mascom Top 8 Cup is a football cup competition in Botswana. It was created in 2012, and features the top eight finishers from the Botswana Premier League. Since 2013, the winners qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup, as the FA Challenge Cup is not played. This was stopped in 2019 with the return of the FA Cup. Format The Mascom Top 8 Cup is played by the top eight finishers from the previous season of the Premier League. The quarter-finals and semi-finals are played as two-legged ties both home and away, with a once-off final. The Botswana Premier League, currently known as the BTC Premiership for sponsorship reasons, is the highest level football league in Botswana. Organised by the Botswana Football Association, the league was formed in 1978 to replace the pre-independence Bechuanaland Union African Soccer League, which was regional.
