Mark Baldwin (game Designer)
Mark Lewis Baldwin is a computer game designer, most noted for his work on '' The Perfect General'' and '' Empire Deluxe''. He has three games on ''Computer Gaming World's'' list of the best games of all time. He has formerly been involved with the management of several games companies, including Quantum Quality Productions, Moto1 where he was vice-president and White Wolf Productions where he was CEO. Mark is currently a Professor of Practice at Colorado School of Mines. His career has been quite varied including Captain in the US Air Force, lead engineer for ascent flight design for the Space Shuttle, award-winning game designer, entrepreneur, consultant, and academic. The Magic Candle
''The Magic Candle: Volume 1'' is a role-playing video game designed by Ali Atabek and developed and published by Mindcraft in 1989. Story In the game, players must assemble a group of six adventurers and journey across the kingdom of Deruvia to keep the demon Dreax imprisoned in the eponymous magic candle, which has begun to melt. The game's world includes several towns and cities, two castles, and several dungeons and towers. Unlike many computer games, one wins not by defeating a final enemy, but by collecting the necessary items and learning the necessary chants in order to preserve the magic candle. The ''Star Fleet'' computer games are starship tactical combat simulations originally created by Dr. Trevor Sorensen in the late 1970s. ''Star Fleet I: The War Begins!'' American Laser Games was a company based in Albuquerque, New Mexico that created numerous light gun laserdisc video games featuring live action full motion video. The company was founded in the late 1980s by Robert Grebe, who had originally created a system to train police officers under the company name ICAT (Institute for Combat Arms and Tactics) and later adapted the technology for arcade games. New World Computing, Inc. was an American video game developer and publisher founded in 1984 by Jon Van Caneghem, his wife, Michaela Van Caneghem, and Mark Caldwell. It was best known for its work on the Might and Magic role-playing video game series and its spin-offs, especially Heroes of Might and Magic. The company was purchased by and became a division of The 3DO Company on July 10, 1996 from NTN Communications, after NTN purchased New World Computing for $10 million in stock. Trimark Pictures was an American production company that specialized in the production and distribution of television and home video motion pictures. The company was formed in 1984 by Mark Amin as Vidmark Entertainment with Vidmark Inc. (later Trimark Holdings Inc.) established as the holding company.
