Marjorie Carroll
Marjorie Carroll (née Monk) was a former nurse and politician in Ontario, Canada. She served as the first female, and longest-serving mayor of Waterloo from 1977 to 1988. Biography Carroll was born October 8, 1932, in Bruce County, Ontario. She grew up on a farm near Elmwood, Ontario. She was educated at the Kitchener-Waterloo School of Nursing and studied public health nursing at the University of Western Ontario. She worked as a nurse in Toronto, where she met her husband, Glenn Carroll, with whom she had two daughters. Carroll worked on campaigns for the federal and provincial Progressive Conservatives. She was elected to Waterloo city council in 1974. She was appointed mayor in 1977 by the council after Herb Epp resigned to enter provincial politics. She was elected by acclamation three more times. Waterloo, Ontario
Waterloo is a city in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of three cities in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo (formerly Waterloo County, Ontario, Waterloo County). Herb Epp
Herbert Arnold Epp (August 31, 1934 – February 25, 2013) was a politician from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Liberal from 1977 to 1990 and was a former three-term mayor of the City of Waterloo. Background Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in Ontario, Epp studied political science and history and received his BA degree from Waterloo Lutheran University in 1961. He went on to receive a Master of Education degree from the University of Toronto in 1972. Epp worked as a teacher and guidance counsellor for fifteen years with the Waterloo County Board of Education and worked occasionally as a supply teacher after finishing his career in provincial politics. Brian Turnbull
Brian Turnbull (born 1999) is an Irish hurler who plays for Cork Senior Championship club Douglas and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left corner-forward. Playing career St. Francis College Turnbull first came to prominence as a hurler with St. Francis College in Rochestown. He played in every grade of hurling before eventually joining the college's senior hurling team. Grand River Hospital is a 665-bed hospital serving Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada, and surrounding communities, primarily through its KW and Freeport Sites, both located in Kitchener. The two sites were independent hospitals that merged to form Grand River Hospital in April 1995. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (french: Médaille du jubilé de diamant de la reine Elizabeth II) or The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal was a commemorative medal created in 2012 to mark the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession in 1952.
