Maritime Component Command
Maritime Component Command ( sv, Marinens taktiska stab, MTS) was a part of the Joint Forces Command of the Swedish Armed Forces. The staff was located at the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters in Stockholm and is headed by the Chief of Navy. The Maritime Component Command commanded the operations of the Swedish Navy forces. History The Maritime Component Command was established in September 1993 under the name of the Naval Tactical Center (''Marinens taktiska centrum'', MTC) which has its origin in the Naval Staff which was disbanded on 30 June 1994 in connection with the Swedish Armed Forces becoming a single government agency on 1 July 1994. The Naval Staff was partly replaced by the Naval Command (''Marinledningen'') on 1 July 1994. Peter Nordbeck (Swedish Navy Officer)
Vice Admiral Peter Esbjörn Nordbeck (born 19 July 1938) is a Swedish Navy officer. He was Chief of the Defence Staff from 1992 to 1993 and the Chief of Navy Command from 1994 to 1998. Early life Nordbeck was born on 19 July 1938 in Grängesberg, Sweden, the son of Stig Nordbeck and his wife Kerstin (née Froste). His father, an engineer, was employed by Gränges AB in Grängesberg in Dalarna at the time of Nordbeck's birth. Nordbeck has two siblings and two half-siblings. At the age of one year Nordbeck moved to Karlskrona where his father took up a position as chief engineer at Karlskrona City Municipal Enterprises in 1939. The Swedish Auxiliary Naval Corps got him interested in the sea and directed him to a naval officer course. Haninge Municipality (''Haninge kommun'') is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. Its seat is located in Handen, a part of the Stockholm urban area. Haninge Municipality was formed in 1971 when ''Västerhaninge'' and ''Österhaninge'' were united. The municipal coat of arms depicts a capercaillie from which the name Haninge is believed to have been derived (the German word ''hahn'' means capercaillie), while the anchor symbolizes the naval base in the municipality.
