Maria Patek
Maria Patek (born 13 July 1958) is an Austrian civil servant who served as the Minister for Sustainability and Tourism in the Bierlein government. Life Maria Patek was born in 1958 in rural Michaelerberg, Styria. Her career in the Austrian agriculture ministry began in 1983. She rose through the ranks and was responsible for the Forestry and Sustainability Section in 2018. She is married with two daughters. In 2015 Patek was awarded a Grand Decoration of Honour in Silver for Services to the Republic of Austria. The Bierlein government (german: Bundesregierung Bierlein) was the 32nd Government of Austria following the collapse of the First Kurz government headed by Chancellor Sebastian Kurz in the aftermath of the Ibiza affair. Brigitte Bierlein (; born 25 June 1949) is an Austrian former jurist who served as Chancellor of Austria from June 2019 to January 2020. An Independent, she was the first female Chancellor of Austria. Bierlein served as the advocate general of the Procurator's Office – essentially the country's chief public prosecutor – from 1990 to 2002, as well as a member of the executive board of the International Association of Prosecutors from 2001 to 2003.
