Maria Josefa Karolina Brader
Maria Josefa Karolina Brader (15 August 1860 - 27 February 1943) - in religious Maria Caridad of the Holy Spirit - was a Swiss Roman Catholic religious sister who founded the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate. Brader served as a member of the missions in Ecuador for a brief period of time before being transferred to Colombia where she served as a catechist and evangelizer for the remainder of her life. Brader's canonization cause commenced on 24 October 1985 (she was titled as a Servant of God) and she was later made Venerable on 28 June 1999 before Pope John Paul II beatified Brader on 23 March 2003 in Saint Peter's Square. Maria Bernarda Bütler
María Bernarda Bütler (28 May 1848 – 19 May 1924) - born Verena Bütler - was a Swiss Roman Catholic professed religious and the foundress of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Sinners, and served in the missions in Ecuador and Colombia. Bütler worked for the care of the poor in these places until her exile from Ecuador and entrance into Colombia where she worked for the remainder of her life. Her order moved there with her, and continued to expand during her time there until her death. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on 29 October 1995, and canonised by Pope Benedict XVI on 12 October 2008.
