Marco Iannuzzi
Marco Iannuzzi (born May 21, 1987) is a retired Canadian football wide receiver for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is an official Canadian honour recipient of Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers presented by the Governor General of Canada and is also a Harvard graduate. Education Iannuzzi attended Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he spent his first two years as an economics concentrator while pursuing pre-medical requirements and the following two years of his degree studying engineering, architecture and environmental science. High School football 2003-2004: Iannuzzi attended Saint Francis High School (Calgary) where he was unanimous All-Calgary selection, helped football team to a 29-game winning streak spanning three seasons, MVP of high school all-star game. Edmonton Huskies
The Edmonton Huskies are a Canadian Junior Football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The Huskies play in the six-team Prairie Football Conference, which itself is part of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) and competes annually for the national title known as the Canadian Bowl. History The Huskies were founded in 1954. In the 1960s the Huskies won 3 National Championships in a row and two in a row in 2004 and 2005 under the direction of head coach Mike Mclean. On October 30, 2004 the Huskies beat the Okanagan Sun 24-7 to win the Canadian Bowl. The very next year, the Huskies went on to beat the South Fraser Rams and then the St. Leonard Cougars to again win the national championship. The Canadian Football League Players' Association (or CFLPA) represents Canadian football players in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The association was established in 1965, when local lawyer John Agro became concerned by the number of Hamilton Tiger-Cats players approaching him with legal questions about contracts, medical coverage and pensions. All CFLPA presidents have been active or retired CFL players. The first president was Gary Schreider, who had recently retired as a player for the Ottawa Rough Riders upon the union's founding. The current president (since 2020) is Solomon Elimimian. In June 2010, the CFLPA and the CFL announced the details of a new four-year collective bargaining agreement. Saskatchewan Roughriders
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are a professional Canadian football team based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Roughriders compete in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member club of the league's West Division. The Roughriders were founded in 1910 as the Regina Rugby Club. Although Saskatchewan was not the first team to play football in Western Canada, the club has maintained an unbroken organizational continuity since their founding. 2011 CFL Draft
The 2011 CFL Draft took place on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at 12:30 PM ET on TSN. 47 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The Toronto Argonauts, Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats had the most draft selections with a total of seven apiece. Next came the Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers who each had six selections. The BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders both picked five times.
