Manorama Six Feet Under
''Manorama Six Feet Under'' is a 2007 Indian thriller film directed and co-written by Navdeep Singh. The film features Abhay Deol, Raima Sen and Gul Panag in the lead roles. The film released on 21 September 2007. It follows an amateur detective in a small sleepy town from Rajasthan who finds himself caught in a web of lies, deceit and murder. The movie is based on American neo-noir film, ''Chinatown'' (1974). The makers of ''Manorama Six Feet Under'' acknowledged the inspiration from the original by playing the sequence where Jack Nicholson's character gets his nose slashed on the main character's (Satyaveer) television. Navdeep Singh (director)
Navdeep Singh (born 1966) is an Indian film director and writer. He is best known for his Bollywood film, ''NH10 (film), NH10''. Early life He was born in Delhi to an Army officer and travelled across India when he was young. He graduated in Delhi and started an animation studio with a friend, one of the first in India. He studied film-making at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, graduating in 1997. He lived in the US for eight years and two years in London before moving back to India in 2000. Career After graduating Singh directed commercials and music videos for UGround and Cognito in LA, and Great Guns in London. Mahalakshmi Iyer is an Indian playback singer, best known for her Hindi, Assamese and Tamil songs. Khalid Mohamed is an Indian journalist, editor, film critic, screenwriter and film director. He formerly worked for the ''Hindustan Times'' and was the lead editor for ''Filmfare'' magazine.
