Roop Kumar Rathod
Roop Kumar Rathod is an Indian music director and playback singer. He has performed a number of songs in Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Nepali, Bhojpuri and Kannada films. Personal life Rathod is the second son of the late Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod, a proponent of the oldest major vocal style associated with Hindustani classical music, Dhrupad. He belonged to the "Aditya Gharana of Jamnagar." He has two brothers, music composer Shravan Rathod, part of the Nadeem-Shravan duo, and singer Vinod Rathod. Roopkumar is married to Sunali Rathod, formerly the first wife of bhajan singer, Anup Jalota. Together they have a daughter named Reewa. Dhrupad
Dhrupad is a genre in Hindustani classical music from the Indian subcontinent. It is the oldest known style of major vocal styles associated with Hindustani classical music, Haveli Sangeet of Pushtimarg Sampraday and also related to the South Indian Carnatic tradition. It is a term of Sanskrit origin, derived from ''dhruva'' (ध्रुव, immovable, permanent) and ''pada'' (पद, verse). The roots of Dhrupad are ancient. It is discussed in the Hindu Sanskrit text '' Natyashastra'' (~200 BCE – 200 CE), and other ancient and medieval Sanskrit texts, such as chapter 33 of Book 10 in the ''Bhagavata Purana'' (~800–1000 CE), where the theories of music and devotional songs for Krishna are summarized. Trilok Gurtu
Trilok Gurtu (born 30 October 1951) is an Indian percussionist and composer whose work has blended the music of India with jazz fusion and world music. He has worked with Terje Rypdal, Gary Moore, John McLaughlin, Jan Garbarek, Joe Zawinul, Michel Bisceglia, Bill Laswell, Maria João & Mário Laginha, and Robert Miles. ''Border'' is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language epic war film written, produced and directed by J. P. Dutta. Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, it is an adaptation of real life events that happened during the Battle of Longewala in 1971. The film stars an ensemble cast of Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee feature in supporting roles. ''Border'' was Dutta's dream project. Sandese Aate Hai ( hi, संदेसे आते है, ) is a patriotic song from the 1997 movie ''Border'', directed by J. P. Dutta. It was written by Javed Akhtar, composed by Anu Malik and sung by Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam. The song describes the pain of Indian soldiers and was one of the reasons for the success of the film. For a "heart-touching" song which "became the nation's anthem", Akhtar won the Filmfare Award and the Screen Award in 1997 and 1998 respectively. He also won the National Film Award for the movie. Sunali Rathod is an Indian playback singer. She is also a trained classical singer. Personal life Sunali Rathod was born Sonali Sheth on 17 January into a Gujarati family in Mumbai.
