Mamuju Regency
Mamuju Regency is a regency ( id, kabupaten Mamuju) of West Sulawesi province, Indonesia. The regency capital is at Karema, while Mamuju town is the capital of West Sulawesi. The population of the regency was 336,879 at the 2010 Census, but it was substantially reduced by the creation of the new Central Mamuju Regency which was cut out of it in 2012. The reduced Mamuju Regency covers an area of 4,954.57 km2 and had a population of 278,764 at the 2020 Census. The official estimate as at mid 2021 was 281,854. A regency ( id, kabupaten), sometimes incorrectly referred to as a district, is an administrative division of Indonesia, directly under a province and on the same level with city (''kota''). Regencies is divided into districts (''Kecamatan'', ''Distrik'' in Papua region, or ''Kapanewon'' in the Special Region of Yogyakarta). West Sulawesi
West Sulawesi ( id, Sulawesi Barat) is a province of Indonesia. It is located on the western side of Sulawesi island. It covers an area of 16,787.18 km2, and its capital is Mamuju. The 2010 Census recorded a population of 1,158,651, while that in 2020 recorded 1,419,228. The province was established in 2004, having been split off from South Sulawesi. Mamuju (city)
Mamuju is the capital of the Indonesian province of West Sulawesi. The town was formerly part of South Sulawesi province. Education Education in Mamuju extends up to SMA III (Year 12) and people from surrounding areas (especially the area of Kalumpang) will travel to Mamuju to further their education. Students who wish to pursue a tertiary education must travel to larger towns like Makassar. Agriculture Agriculture in this area includes jackfruit, rambutan, durian, rice, and bananas. Central Mamuju Regency is a regency in the province of West Sulawesi, Indonesia. The regency was established on 14 December 2012, comprising five districts (''kecamatan'') which had formerly been part of Mamuju Regency. Balabalagan Islands
Balabalagan Islands (also spelled Bala-balakang and historically known as Little Paternoster Islands) are an Indonesian archipelago forming an administrative district of Mamuju Regency located in the Makassar Strait off the east coast of Kalimantan (Borneo), between it and Sulawesi and closer to the latter island. The archipelago is also located near the geographic center of Indonesia.
