Mammad Hasan Agha Javanshir
Mammad Hasan agha Sarijali Javanshir ( az, Məhəmmədhəsən ağa Sarıcalı-Cavanşir) was a military leader and major-general of the Russian army, son and heir of Ibrahimkhalil khan of Karabakh, father of major-general, public figure and poet Jafargulu agha Javanshir also ancestor of famous Azerbaijani singer Khan Shushinski. He was born in 1766, Shusha as first son of Ibrahim Khalil Khan and his principal wife Khanum agha (also known as Nana Khanim) from Jabrayilli clan. Life He led a 500 strong cavalry in pursuit of his cousin Muhammad bey (son of Mehrali bey) who seized rulership of Karabakh during chaos ensued Agha Muhammad Khan's death in 1797. Mehdigulu Khan Javanshir
Mehdigulu Khan Javanshir ( fa, مهدیقلی خان جوانشیر, translit=Mehdiqoli Xān Javānšir, az, مهدیقلو خان جاوانشیر; 1763 or 1772–1845) was the last Khan of the Karabakh Khanate, functioning as its head from 1806 to 1822. His only known issue was Khurshidbanu Natavan, a famous Azerbaijani poetess. Early life Mehdigulu Khan was born in 1763 to Ibrahim Khalil, the second Khan of Karabakh, and Khurshid Begum, daughter of Javad Khan and a granddaughter of Shahverdi Khan of Ganja. Muhammad Gasim agha Javanshir ( az, Məhəmmədqasım ağa Sarıcalı-Cavanşir) was a statesman, colonel, son of the seventh Karabakh Khan Ibrahim Khalil Khan. Life The son of Ibrahim Khalil Khan from the daughter of Allahyar bey Ungutlinsky. Muhammad Gasim agha Javanshir, although he was not with his father when he was killed by the rangers of Lieutenant Colonel Lisanevich, however, like his older brother Khanlar-aga, fled to Qajar Empire. He was able to return to Karabakh only in the autumn of 1807, already under the new commander-in-chief in Georgia, Count Gudovich (1806-1809), was forgiven and renewed his oath. Jafar Qoli Khan Donboli
Jafarqoli or Jafarqulu Khan Donboli ( fa, جعفرقلی خان دنبلی) was the last khan of the Khoy Khanate from 1798 to 1799 and penultimate Khan of Shaki from 1806 to 1814. Background He was born to either Sahbaz Khan Donboli as their second son in Khoy. He was from Donbolis, a Kurdish tribe. Ahmad Khan Donboli was murdered in 1786, Jafarqoli had to flee the scene. Khananda
A khananda ( az, xanəndə ; fa, خواننده; alternative spellings in English: khanende, khanande, khanandeh) is a name generally given to singers of mugham, an Culture of Azerbaijan, Azeri folk music genre. The word is of Persian origin and means "singer". When performing traditional mugham, a khananda is accompanied by a trio of musicians who play the tar (lute), tar, the kamancheh and the daf (tambourine). Often the khananda is the daf-player. Origins and development The exact origins of the art of khanandas have not been studied thoroughly however it is likely that it emerged during the urbanization in the Middle Ages, medieval epoch. Shahverdi Khan Of Ganja
Shahverdi Khan Ziyadoghlu () (d. 1768) was the beylerbey of Karabakh from 1740 to 1743 and first khan of Ganja from 1747 to 1760. He was from the Ziyadoglu branch of the Qajar clan who ruled the Beylerbeylik of Karabakh as hereditary governors. Background After the dethronement of the Safavids in 1736 by Nader Shah, the landed classes of Ganja and Karabakh gathered in Mughan and decided to oppose the new shah and agreed to try to restore the Safavids to the throne. His father Ughurlu Khan was among them. When this news reached Nader Shah, he ordered all Muslim landowners of the region and their families deported to Khorasan (northeastern Iran) as punishment.
