Malaysia Youth Museum
The Malaysia Youth Museum ( ms, Muzium Belia Malaysia) is a museum in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia, which dedicated to the youth of Malaysia and their contribution to the economic and social wellbeing at regional, national, and international levels. The museum building was formerly used as part of the Dutch Administrative Complex during the Dutch Malacca. It was later converted into a post office and subsequently an Anglo-Chinese School in 1931 and finally the museum today, which was officially opened by then Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on 15 April 1992. The museum is located on the ground floor of the building, which houses the Malacca Art Gallery at the upper floor. It is located in a cluster at Bandar Hilir, along with core Malacca historic sites: A Famosa, St Paul's Church, the Stadthuys, Christ Church, the Proclamation of Independence Memorial and the Malacca Sultanate Palace Museum. Malacca ( ms, Melaka) is a state in Malaysia located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula, next to the Strait of Malacca. Dutch Malacca
Dutch Malacca (1641–1825) was the longest period that Malacca was under foreign control. The Dutch ruled for almost 183 years with intermittent British occupation during the Napoleonic Wars (1795–1815). This era saw relative peace with little serious interruption from the Malay sultanates due to the understanding forged between the Dutch and the Sultanate of Johor in 1606. This time also marked the decline of the importance of Malacca. The Dutch preferred Batavia (present day Jakarta) as their economic and administrative centre in the region and their hold in Malacca was to prevent the loss of the city to other European powers and, subsequently, the competition that would come with it. Mahathir bin Mohamad ( ms, محاضير بن محمد, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; ; born 10 July 1925) is a Malaysian politician, author, and physician who served as the 4th and 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia. Malacca Art Gallery
Malacca Art Gallery ( ms, Balai Seni Lukis Melaka) is an art gallery in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia which was established in 1958. It is located on the upper floor of the building, which houses the Malaysia Youth Museum at the ground floor and was originally established as the administrative office of Dutch Malacca government. The permanent section of the gallery exhibits around 150 paintings and 30 sculptures produced by famous Malaysian artists, such as Rafie Abd Rahman, Wan Hui-jyu, Rahmat Ramli, Rafie Abd Ghani and Jehan Chan. Foreign artists displayed including Gerard Van Den Oetelaar from the Netherlands. Malacca Sultanate Palace Museum ( ms, Muzium Istana Kesultanan Melaka) is a museum located in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia. The building is a modern reconstruction of the palace of the Malacca Sultanate, based on the information and data obtained from the '' Malay Annals''. It is made up of hardwood (for its structure), 'belian' wood (for its roof) and wooden pegs (instead of nails) and was constructed in 1984 and became a cultural museum which showcases the history of the region.
