Federal Route 198, or Jalan Jedok-Air Canal-Legeh, is a federal road in Kelantan, Malaysia. The route connects Jedok in the northeast and Kampung Legeh in the southwest. History In 2003, the highway was gazetted as Federal Route 198. Features At most sections, the Federal Route 198 was built under the JKR R5 road standard, allowing maximum speed limit of up to 90 km/h. Malaysian Public Works Department
The Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR; ms, Jabatan Kerja Raya Malaysia) is the federal government department in Malaysia under Ministry of Works Malaysia (MOW) which is responsible for construction and maintenance of public infrastructure in West Malaysia and Labuan. In Sabah and Sarawak, a separate entity of Public Works Department exists under respective state government's jurisdiction but both departments are also subordinate to the parent department at the same time. Tanah Merah District
Tanah Merah District (meaning ''Red Land'' or ''Laterite'', Kelantanese: ''Tanoh Meghoh''; Jawi: تانه ميره) is a district (jajahan) in the state of Kelantan in northeast Malaysia. The urban area of Tanah Merah is situated along the Kelantan River. It is bordered by Pasir Mas District in the north, Machang District to the East, Kuala Krai District to the South East, Jeli District to the South West and Thailand in the West. Historically it used to be a capital of a kingdom called Chi Tu. Chinese Sui Dynasty annals of the 7th century describe an advanced kingdom called Chi Tu ("Red Earth") in the area now called Kelantan. Jeli
The Jeli District (Jawi: جلي) is a district and a parliamentary constituency in western Kelantan, Malaysia. As of 2010, the district's population is estimated to be 42,150. Jeli is administered by the Jeli District Council. Jeli is bordered by the state of Perak to the west, the Thai district of Waeng to the north, Tanah Merah district to the north east and Kuala Krai district to the south east. Most people in Jeli work as rubber tappers. The rubber plantations which belong to the local people also attract people from outside to come and work. Commonly families own a small plantation of up to in size. The history of Jeli began when the government encouraged the people around Kelantan to start a great area of agriculture. Gerik ( Jawi: ڬريق; ; Tamil: கிரிக் ; alternate spelling: Grik) is a mukim and the district capital of Hulu Perak District, Perak, Malaysia. The town is also known as Rest Town owing to its strategic location next to East-West Highway , the main route linking Kedah, Penang and Kelantan. History From the historical records, the first person to enter Gerik was Tun Saban, the son of Tun Perak, and the treasurer of the Malacca Sultanate in the early 16th century. During the fall of the Malacca government into the hands of the Portuguese, Tun Saban migrated to Hulu Patani and then moved to Belum, Gerik. He became the chairman of the community at Belum. Federal Route 4 is a federal road in the north of Peninsula Malaysia. The road connects Butterworth, Penang to Pasir Puteh in Kelantan. The highway also goes close to the border with Thailand and meets Jalan Kompleks CIQ Bukit Bunga at Bukit Bunga. Route background The Kilometre Zero is located at Gerik, Perak. Kelantan
Kelantan (; Jawi: ; Kelantanese Malay: ''Klate'') is a state in Malaysia. The capital is Kota Bharu and royal seat is Kubang Kerian.
