Alcalá de Henares () is a Spanish city in the Community of Madrid. 2011 European Tour
The 2011 European Tour was the third edition of the Race to Dubai and the 40th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The season began in December 2010 with the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa, and culminated with the Dubai World Championship the following December. The full schedule included the four major championships and four World Golf Championships. The Race to Dubai was won by Englishman Luke Donald, who also collected the Golfer of the Year award having also headed the PGA Tour money list and ascended to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking during 2011. Ricardo González (golfer)
Ricardo González (born 24 October 1969) is an Argentine professional golfer. Career González turned professional in 1986, and has spent much of his career in Europe. He won a place on the European Tour in 1992 through qualifying school after playing on the second tier Challenge Tour in 1991. Having failed to win sufficient money to retain his tour card, he returned to the Challenge Tour in 1993. Having moved to Africa, González returned to Europe in 1998 after winning the Challenge Tour sanctioned Tusker Kenya Open, and secured a second shot on the European Tour by finishing 5th on the Challenge Tour Rankings that season. Charl Adriaan Schwartzel ( ; born 31 August 1984) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays in the LIV Golf Invitational Series and has previously played on the PGA Tour, European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. The 2008 European Tour was the 37th golf season since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The season began in November 2007 and consisted of 50 official money events, a drop of two from the previous year. This included seven major championships and World Golf Championships, which are also sanctioned by the PGA Tour. 27 events took place in Europe, 11 in Asia, six in the United States, four in South Africa, one in Australia and one in New Zealand. The Order of Merit was won by Robert Karlsson, the first Swedish golfer to do so. The Golfer of the Year award was given to Pádraig Harrington, who won two major championships during the season and finished second in the Order of Merit. Mikko Ilonen (born 18 December 1979) is a retired Finnish professional golfer who played on the European Tour, winning five times. He is considered to be the greatest golfer from Finland. Career Ilonen was born in Lahti, Finland. He won the 2000 Amateur Championship, and turned pro in 2001. He played mainly on the European Tour, where he five events. He won his first professional tournament at the 2007 Indonesia Open, an event co-sanctioned by the European Tour and Asian Tour. 2009 European Tour
The 2009 European Tour was the 38th series of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. There were major changes for the 2009 season as the tour entered a partnership agreement with Dubai based Leisurecorp. The Order of Merit was renamed the Race to Dubai with the addition of a new season ending tournament, the Dubai World Championship, being contested by the leading 60 players after the penultimate event for a US$7.5 million prize fund and a US$7.5 million bonus pool. The season began with five events in late 2008 and consisted of 54 official money tournaments. Rhys Davies (born 28 May 1985) is a Welsh professional golfer. Davies was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, but has lived in Wales for the majority of his life. He played collegiate golf in the United States at East Tennessee State University where he won ten times and was a first team All-American in 2005, 2006, and 2007. The 2010 European Tour was the second edition of the Race to Dubai and the 39th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The season consisted of 47 tournaments, beginning with two events in December 2009 and culminating with the Dubai World Championship the following November. The schedule included the four major championships, four World Golf Championships and the Ryder Cup. The Race to Dubai was won by Germany's Martin Kaymer. Lorenzo Gagli (born 14 October 1985) is an Italian professional golfer. He won the 2018 Barclays Kenya Open, his first win on the Challenge Tour. Professional career Gagli turned professional in 2006. He spent 2007 on the Alps Tour, where he finished fourth on the Order of Merit. As a result, he was promoted to the Challenge Tour, where he played for the 2008 season. He graduated from the qualifying school in 2008 to earn promotion for the European Tour in 2009, but struggled for form at that level and divided his season between the European and Challenge Tours. He again came through qualifying school at the end of 2009, but once again bounced between tours for 2010.
