Mikko Ilonen
Mikko Ilonen (born 18 December 1979) is a retired Finnish professional golfer who played on the European Tour, winning five times. He is considered to be the greatest golfer from Finland. Career Ilonen was born in Lahti, Finland. He won the 2000 Amateur Championship, and turned pro in 2001. He played mainly on the European Tour, where he five events. He won his first professional tournament at the 2007 Indonesia Open, an event co-sanctioned by the European Tour and Asian Tour. He was the first Finn to win a European Tour event and to feature in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking. In 2007 he finished the season in a career best 34th on the European Tour Order of Merit. In June 2013, Ilonen won the Nordea Masters event in Sweden for the second time in his career and third tour level victory overall. In June 2014, Ilonen won the Irish Open at Fota Island in Cork. 2014 Volvo World Match Play Championship
The 2014 Volvo World Match Play Championship was the 49th Volvo World Match Play Championship to be played. It was held 15–19 October, with the champion receiving €650,000. The format was 16 players split into four pools of four, with the top two in each pool progressing to the knock-out stage. It is an official money event on the European Tour. Format The 16 players are split into four pools of four, seeded by their Official World Golf Ranking. Within each pool, every player plays each other in a round-robin format over 18-hole matches. Points are awarded based upon win (2), tie (1) or loss (0). The two leading players from each pool advance to the knock-out stage. 2014 European Tour
The 2014 European Tour was the sixth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 43rd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The schedule comprised 49 tournaments counting for the Race to Dubai, including the four major championships and four World Golf Championships, and concluded with four Final Series events culminating at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai at the end of November. Jonas Blixt
Jonas Blixt (born 24 April 1984) is a Swedish professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. He is a three-time winner on the PGA Tour, with his most recent win coming at the 2017 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Amateur career Blixt was born in Nässjö, in the province of Småland, Sweden, but moved with his parents to Karlstad in the province of Värmland. Representing Hammarö Golf Club, he won the 2003 Swedish Junior Stroke-play Championship at Finspång Golf Club and the 2005 Swedish Junior Match-play Championship at Ängsö Golf Club. The 2013 European Tour was the fifth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 42nd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. Martin Kaymer
Martin Kaymer ( ; born 28 December 1984) is a German professional golfer. A winner of two major championships, he was also the No. 1 ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking for eight weeks in 2011. Kaymer achieved his first major victory at the 2010 PGA Championship, which he won over Bubba Watson in a 3-hole playoff. Peter Mikael Hedblom (born 20 January 1970) is a Swedish professional golfer. Early years Hedblom was born in Gävle, Sweden. When he was just a few years old, he followed his father Olle, a former bandy player, who later became a golf club professional, to the golf course at Gävle Golf Club. Jean-Baptiste Gonnet (born 28 September 1982) is a French professional golfer. Gonnet was born in Cannes. He turned professional in 2004 and played on the Challenge Tour from 2004 to 2006. Nick Dougherty
Nicholas James Dougherty (born 24 May 1982) is a retired English professional golfer. Dougherty was born in Bootle, Merseyside, and attended Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Blackburn, Lancashire. He is a protégé of former professional golfer, Nick Faldo, and had an exceptional amateur career. Christian Georges Cévaër (born 10 April 1970) is a French professional golfer. Amateur career Cévaër was born in Noumea, New Caledonia. He attended the Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. He then earned a golf scholarship to Stanford University. He won the Pac-10 Championship twice. He also won the 1989 French Amateur Championship. Scandinavian Masters
The Scandinavian Masters is an annual golf tournament on the European Tour played in Sweden. In 2020 the tournament became co-sanctioned with the Ladies European Tour and rebranded as the Scandinavian Mixed, in which both male and female golfers compete. History The tournament had its origins in the Volvo Open and the Scandinavian Enterprise Open, which, in 1973, became the first Swedish stop on the European Tour schedule.
