Ricardo González (golfer)
Ricardo González (born 24 October 1969) is an Argentine professional golfer. Career González turned professional in 1986, and has spent much of his career in Europe. He won a place on the European Tour in 1992 through qualifying school after playing on the second tier Challenge Tour in 1991. Having failed to win sufficient money to retain his tour card, he returned to the Challenge Tour in 1993. Having moved to Africa, González returned to Europe in 1998 after winning the Challenge Tour sanctioned Tusker Kenya Open, and secured a second shot on the European Tour by finishing 5th on the Challenge Tour Rankings that season. He has successfully retained his playing privileges since then by consistently finishing inside the top 115 of the Order of Merit each year. González has accumulated four European Tour wins, with a best year-end ranking on the European Tour Order of Merit of 25th place in 2001. KLM Open
The Dutch Open is an annual golf tournament played in the Netherlands, and has been part of the European Tour's schedule since the Tour was inaugurated in 1972. History and sponsorship Founded in 1912, the tournament began as the Dutch Open, before a variety of sponsors resulted in numerous name changes over the years. Omega European Masters
The Omega European Masters is the Swiss stop on professional men's golf's European Tour, and in 2009 it became the first event in Europe to be co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. Founded as the Swiss Open in 1923, the tournament was prefixed with European Masters in 1983, before dropping Swiss Open from the title in 1992. During the 1971 event, Baldovino Dassù became the first player to score 60 for 18 holes on the European circuit. The tournament has been held at the Golf-Club Crans-sur-Sierre at Crans-Montana in Valais since 1939, and is currently played in early September each year. 2013 European Tour
The 2013 European Tour was the fifth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 42nd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. Sweden's Henrik Stenson won the Race to Dubai and was named Golfer of the Year. Peter Uihlein of the United States was the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. 2009 European Tour
The 2009 European Tour was the 38th series of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. There were major changes for the 2009 season as the tour entered a partnership agreement with Dubai based Leisurecorp. The Order of Merit was renamed the Race to Dubai with the addition of a new season ending tournament, the Dubai World Championship, being contested by the leading 60 players after the penultimate event for a US$7.5 million prize fund and a US$7.5 million bonus pool. The season began with five events in late 2008 and consisted of 54 official money tournaments. This was an increase of four from the previous year, although three events were ultimately cancelled, and included the four major championships and four World Golf Championships, which are also sanctioned by the PGA Tour. 27 events took place in Europe, 14 in Asia, 6 in the United States, 3 in South Africa and 3 in Australia. Jonathan Lomas
Jonathan Lomas (born 7 May 1968) is an English professional golfer. Lomas was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He turned professional in 1988. He won three times on the second tier Challenge Tour in 1992 and 1993 and was named as the European Tour's Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in 1994. Lomas's best season on the European Tour was 1996, when he won the Czech Open and finished 20th on the Order of Merit. He also represented England in the Alfred Dunhill Cup that year. He held on to his tour card until 2007, and except for a few invitations to tour events, has mainly played tournaments and pro-ams on the Scottish professional circuit since then. Stephen Gallacher
Stephen James Gallacher (born 1 November 1974) is a Scottish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Early life and amateur career Gallacher was born in Dechmont, West Lothian and is the nephew of former European Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher and cousin of Sky Sports news presenter Kirsty Gallacher. He won the 1994 European Amateur and a couple of important amateur tournaments in Britain. He played in a victorious Walker Cup side in 1995 and turned professional later that year. Professional career Gallacher first played on the European Tour in 1996, but struggled to begin with. 2004 European Tour
The 2004 European Tour was the 33rd golf season since the European Tour officially began in 1972. The season was made up of 45 tournaments counting towards the Order of Merit, which included the four major championships and three World Golf Championships. Ernie Els won the Order of Merit, defending the title he won in 2003. Despite Els dominance of the European money-list, Vijay Singh was crowned European Tour Golfer of the Year, having won the PGA Championship and deposed Tiger Woods at the top of the Official World Golf Ranking. Mårten Olander
Mårten Olander (born 5 November 1971) is a Sweden, Swedish professional golfer. Olander attended the University of Alabama for four years, and was awarded the Ben Hogan Award for the best college golfer in the United States in 1993. He turned professional in 1995, and joined the Challenge Tour in 1996, winning promotion to the European Tour in his debut season. He returned to the Challenge Tour for 1999, and spent three further seasons there before winning his first professional tournament at the 2001 Hardelot Challenge de France, sealing his return to the full European Tour. He spent a further five seasons at the highest level, before a dramatic slump in form saw him make only three cuts in 2006, since when he has played rarely. Nicholas Simon O'Hern (born 18 October 1971) is an Australian professional golfer. O'Hern has played on both of the world's premier professional golf tours, the European Tour, and the United States-based PGA Tour. His biggest successes though, have come at home on the PGA Tour of Australasia, where he won the Order of Merit as the leading money winner in 2006.
