Bishnu Maden (1939/40 – July 10, 2003) was a Nepalese politician. He served as Minister of Law and Forest during the Panchayat era. After the democratic opening, Maden joined the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party. He became a Central Committee member of the party. When RPP was divided, he stayed with party leader Surya Bahadur Thapa. John Maden
Sir John Henry Maden (11 September 1862 – 18 February 1920) was a British Liberal Party politician. He was elected Member of Parliament for Rossendale in 1892, resigning in 1900 by becoming Steward of the Manor of Northstead. He was again reelected for Rossendale in a 1917 by-election, retiring from politics when he lost his seat in the 1918 general election. Maden was the head of the firm of John Maden & Sons, cotton spinners and manufacturers of Bacup and Manchester. He was an honorary freeman of Bacup of which he had been mayor thirteen times in all, eleven times in succession. He served as High Sheriff of Lancashire in 1914 and was knighted the following year. Henry Maden
Henry Maden (31 March 1892 – 17 November 1960) was an English barrister and Liberal politician. Family and education Henry Maden was the son of Sir Henry Maden from Bacup in Lancashire. He was educated privately and attended Exeter College, Oxford where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1923 he married Alice Fletcher from Holmfirth. Career Maden went in for the law and was called to the Bar at the Middle Temple in 1916. Politics Maden contested the Lonsdale Division of Lancashire at the 1922 general election. In a three-cornered contest he came second to the Conservative candidate Capt Nigel Kennedy, with Labour’s T M Scott third. However, in 1923 with the Liberal Party reunited after years of schism between Lloyd George and Asquithian factions and Labour not entering the field, Maden gained Lonsdale from Kennedy with a majority of 1,010 votes. Jonathan Richard Maden (born 21 September 1972) is a male English former competitive swimmer who specialised in breaststroke events.
