MP3 Disques is a French pop music record label founded in 2004 in Montreal. The independent label was established by singer Mario Pelchat and is operated by Lionel Lavault. The first album released by the label was Pelchat's own ''Noël avec Jireh Gospel Choir''. The second release, in 2006, was again Pelchat's titled ''Le monde où je vais''. Over the years, MP3 Disques has released albums by Cindy Daniel, Ytheband, Nadja and Étienne Drapeau. Mario Pelchat
Mario Pelchat (born 1 February 1964) is a Canadian Francophone singer from Quebec. He received the Felix Award in 1990 and 1992. Biography Pelchat was born in Dolbeau-Mistassini, Quebec and has performed since 1973. His first 45 RPM single was released in September 1981. His early albums include 1982's ''Je suis un chanteur'' (I Am a Singer) and ''Tu m’as fait mal'' (You hurt me) the following year. His 1988 self-titled album and 1990's ''Couleur Passion'' (The Color of Passion) attained gold record sales status. His 1992 double-platinum album ''Pelchat'' on the Sony label included a duet with Céline Dion. He also recorded with Belgian singer Maurane on his ''Pelchat 2002'' album. Pelchat has performed in various theatrical productions. He played the title role in a 1998 musical on the artist Picasso during a European tour. French Pop Music
French pop music is pop music sung in the French language. It is usually performed by singers from France, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, or any of the other francophone areas of the world. The target audience is the francophone market (primarily France), which is considerably smaller than and largely independent from the mainstream English-speaking world, anglophone market. An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). Cindy Daniel
Cindy Daniel (born May 6, 1986 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Québécois singer. After her debut album ''La petite indienne'' in 2002, the following year, she played the role of Elvira in the French Canadian musical version of ''Don Juan'' by Félix Gray. She also appeared on the album released on the occasion. Signed to the Montreal-based independent record label MP3 Disques established by singer Mario Pelchat, she released two albums with the label, ''J'avoue'' in 2006 produced by Mario Pelchat and ''Le tout premier jour'' in 2008 also with Pelchat's participation and the compilation ''Entre nous... 10 ans déjà !'' in 2011. She is very well known in the Quebec and French-Canadian public with her 2006 big hit "Sous une pluie d'étoiles" from her album ''J'avoue'' charting at top of the local charts. Étienne Drapeau
Étienne Drapeau (born January 10, 1978) is a Canadian former ice hockey player. He played as a centre in QMJHL, ECHL, AHL, UHL and WCHL leagues and was selected 99th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 4th round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. After retiring, he became a musician, writing and composing his own music, and writing songs for other artists as well.
