The M81 is a short metropolitan route in Greater Johannesburg, South Africa. It connects Craighall Park with Bryanston. For its entire route, it is named Winnie Mandela Drive (formerly William Nicol Drive; renamed on 26 September 2023). Route The M81 begins as Winnie Mandela Drive (formerly William Nicol Drive) just north of Craighall Park at the intersection with Jan Smuts Avenue ( M27) (by the Hyde Park Corner Shopping Mall). It heads north, passing through the suburbs of Hyde Park, Sandhurst and Hurlingham. In Parkmore, the M75 Sandton Drive intercepts the route as a T-junction, the main route to Sandton City. N1 Western Bypass (Johannesburg)
The Western Bypass is a section of the N1 and the Johannesburg Ring Road located in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa. Known at the time as the ''Concrete Highway'', the freeway was initially opened in 1975 as a route to avoid the city centre of Johannesburg and to provide access to the western areas of the Witwatersrand. From the south, the Western Bypass begins at the Diepkloof Interchange in Soweto, where it splits from the N12 freeway and ends at the Buccleuch Interchange, where it merges with the N3 Eastern Bypass, M1 South and N1 Ben Schoeman freeways. The Western Bypass is the longest section of the Johannesburg Ring Road. The freeway is mostly four lanes wide in either direction, but fans out into six lanes between Rivonia and Buccleuch, where there is heavy traffic moving north towards Pretoria. The M64 is a short metropolitan route in the City of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is in the city of Sandton, connecting Sandown with Douglasdale via Bryanston. Route The M64 starts at a junction with the M85 route (Katherine Street) in Sandton Central (Sandown). It heads northwards as West Street to meet the M9 route (Rivonia Road) at the next junction adjacent to the Gautrain Station. It continues northwards through the Sandton CBD to reach a junction with the M40 route (Grayston Drive). M71 is a major metropolitan route in the City of Johannesburg, South Africa. Starting in the northern CBD, it connects the centre of Johannesburg with the northern suburbs before ending in the outer northern city of Midrand. Route The route begins at an intersection with the M11 Clarendon Place in Hillbrow. As Empire Road is a dual carriage way, the west/east road is signed as the M71 while the east/west route is cosigned with the M17. The route heads west in Parktown, passing Pieter Roos Park before crossing Victoria Avenue (M9) and then later passed Parktown Boys' High School. Bryanston, Gauteng is an affluent residential suburb of Sandton, South Africa north of Johannesburg . Sandton
Sandton is an upscale commercial and residential district north of the city of Johannesburg, South Africa. It forms part of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. Braamfontein Spruit
The Braamfontein Spruit (from the Afrikaans for "spring of brambles") is the longest stream in Johannesburg, South Africa. It originates in Barnato Park High School, Braamfontein. It is covered and canalised near its source, but once the river runs out of the Parkview Golf Course, it runs through parkland, right to the edge of the city, so that Johannesburgers can still enjoy it in its original state. Walkers, runners and cyclists use a path along its banks every weekend in Gauteng, South Africa. From Berea the stream runs through Pieter Roos Park, down Empire Road to the Frank Brown Park, then on towards the German School in Parktown.
