Lumous Gothic Festival
Lumous Gothic Festival (more commonly known as Lumous) was the largest festival dedicated to the goth subculture in Finland and the northernmost Gothic festival in the world. The four-day event was organised every summer in Tampere in late June or early July. While its primary focus was on music, covering musical genres such as gothic rock, deathrock, industrial, EBM and neofolk, other cultural and arts events were also organised as part of the festival. Lumous Festival consisted mainly of club nights organised in bars and clubs at the centre of Tampere, and also included a cruise dubbed ''die dunkle Seereise'' on the lake Pyhäjärvi. Lumous was organised yearly by Lumous Gothic Ry, and its history dates back to 2001 when a handful of Tampere club nights decided to join forces and organise a three-day event called Extreme Gothic Weekend with performances from Two Witches, Nik, The Candles Burning Blue and Viola. Since then, the name of the event was changed in 2002 to the curr ...

Machine Park
A machine is a physical system using power to apply forces and control movement to perform an action. The term is commonly applied to artificial devices, such as those employing engines or motors, but also to natural biological macromolecules, such as molecular machines. Machines can be driven by animals and people, by natural forces such as wind and water, and by chemical, thermal, or electrical power, and include a system of mechanisms that shape the actuator input to achieve a specific application of output forces and movement. They can also include computers and sensors that monitor performance and plan movement, often called mechanical systems. Renaissance natural philosophers identified six simple machines which were the elementary devices that put a load into motion, and calculated the ratio of output force to input force, known today as mechanical advantage. Modern machines are complex systems that consist of structural elements, mechanisms and control components a ...

Coph Nia
Coph Nia is the name given to the dark ambient act formed by Aldenon Satorial (Mikael Aldén). Its first release was the album ''That Which Remains'', which was released in 2000 at Cold Meat Industry. The original members were Mikael Aldén (composition), Magnus Baecklund (lyrics), Clara Pahlén (vocals on ''Our Lady of the Stars'' and ''Sanctus''), and Aasa Vildblomma (percussion). The three latter members, however, only participated on the first album: ''That which Remains'' (2000). The name itself derives from Chapter 3 of Aleister Crowley’s '' Liber AL vel Legis''. The passage reads in full: “I am the Lord of the Double Wand of Power; the wand of the Force of Coph Nia—but my left hand is empty, for I have crushed an Universe; & nought remains.” (AL III:72) Itself thought to be a reference to Ain Soph. Coph Nia's music tends to drift between dark ambient soundscapes and tracks that portray Aldenon's interest in the Western magical tradition, and the work of Aleister ...

UltraNoir
UltraNoir is a Finnish synthpop / gothic rock / post-punk trio founded in 2004. Starting as a pop group, UltraNoir is influenced by shoegaze and post-rock as well as early eighties post-punk acts such as Joy Division, The Cure along with the Sisters Of Mercy and Bauhaus. These elements blended with political (anarchist) lyrics. UltraNoir's themes considered bleak visions of fascism, globalisation, social classes, sexism and existential complications of western moral codes over dreamy melody streams and laconic vocals. Their first single "Reach Me, Helen Keller" (2006) reached chart position No. 4 in Finland. After former guitarist Jan left the group to form Heroin and Your Veins Heroin, also known as diacetylmorphine and diamorphine among other names, is a potent opioid mainly used as a recreational drug for its euphoric effects. The Cyan Velvet Project
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things already mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with pronouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of pronoun '' thee'') when followed by a ...
