Lodh Falls
The Lodh Falls (also known as Budha Ghagh) is a waterfall in a mid forest of Palamau Tiger Reserve, South division of Latehar district in Jharkhand state in India. It is the highest waterfall in Jharkhand and the 21st highest waterfall in India. Waterfall It is located on the Burha River, deep in the forest of the Latehar district the Chota Nagpur Plateau. Latehar District
Latehar district is one of the 24 districts of Jharkhand state in eastern India, and Latehar town is the administrative headquarters of this district. This district is part of Palamu division. Latehar district is situated on longitude 84° 31' E and 23° 44.4' N latitude. The area of the district is 3660 km², with a population of 726,978 (2011 census). Burha River
The Burha River (also called Burhaghagh River) flows through the Latehar district of Palamu division in the Indian States and territories of India, state of Jharkhand. A little to the south of Betla National Park is the wide bowl shaped Chhechhari valley, with a high hill range around it. The rim of the bowl forms the watershed from which dozens of rivulets arise. These join together to form the Burha river, one of the major tributaries of the North Koel. Chhechhari valley is surrounded by lofty hills on every side. Palamau Tiger Reserve
The Palamau Tiger Reserve is one of the nine original tiger reserves in Jharkhand, India and the only one in this state. It forms part of Betla National Park and Palamau Wildlife Sanctuary. As of 2022, the reserve is reported to be largely under Naxal control. Formation The area in Latehar District in Jharkhand was set aside as protected in 1974 under the Indian Forests Act. Before the formation of the reserve, the area was used for cattle grazing and camping; it was acutely prone to forest fire. In 1973, the area was set up as the Palamu Tiger Reserve. Area The tiger reserve has a total area of with a core area of 414.93 km2 and a buffer area of 650 km2. Ramandag, Latoo and Kujurum forest villages are in the core area. Ranchi
Ranchi (, ) is the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand. Ranchi was the centre of the Jharkhand movement, which called for a separate state for the tribal regions of South Bihar, northern Odisha, western West Bengal and the eastern area of what is present-day Chhattisgarh.
