Lipany
Lipany ('lindens;' hu, Héthárs, german: Siebenlinden, la, Septemtiliae all lit. 'seven lindens') is a town in the Sabinov District, Prešov Region in northeastern Slovakia. History The first written mention about Lipany comes from 1312. It gained town privileges in the 16th century. Geography Lipany lies at an altitude of above sea level and covers an area of . The Torysa River flows through the town. It is away from Sabinov, from Prešov and from Stará Ľubovňa. Demographics According to the 2001 census, the town had 6,130 inhabitants. 91.17% of inhabitants were Slovaks, 7.37% Roma, 0.33% Czechs, 0.31% Ukrainians and 0.28% Rusyns. The religious make-up was 89.61% Roman Catholics, 5.99% Greek Catholics, 2.38% people with no religious affiliation and 0.31% Lutherans. Stanislav Varga
Stanislav Varga (born 8 October 1972) is a Slovak football manager and former player, currently in charge of Polish I liga club Sandecja Nowy Sącz. Career Varga, a tall and commanding centre-back, was recruited by Peter Reid for £875,000 from Slovan Bratislava during the summer of 2000. Varga began his career at the Stadium of Light with an impressive opening day display in Sunderland's 1–0 victory over Arsenal, picking up the man of the match award. He scored his first Sunderland goal in a 2–0 win over West Ham in January 2001. A regular in the international side with over fifty caps to his name, Varga has also captained his country on a number of occasions. Pavol Šuhaj
Pavol Šuhaj (born 16 April 1981) is a Slovak footballer who played in the Football League for Crewe Alexandra. He also played in the Slovak Super Liga for Laugaricio Trenčín and the Northern Premier League for Nantwich Town. Šuhaj was a forward. Playing career Šuhaj joined Football League Championship club Crewe Alexandra in July 2005 from Slovak Super Liga side Laugaricio Trenčín. Heinrich Neumann Von Héthárs
Heinrich Neumann Ritter von Héthárs (10 June 1873, in Héthárs (Lipany), then Hungary, now Slovakia – 6 November 1939, in New York City) was the foremost ear-nose-and-throat doctor in Vienna before World War II. In 1938 he transmitted to the Evian Conference the infamous offer by the German government to sell the Austrian Jews at a price of $250 per capita to any foreign country that would accept them and pay. This offer - and the Conference delegates' refusal to accept it - is the focal point of Hans Habe's novel '' The Mission'' (1965). Life Heinrich Neumann studied at the University of Vienna, finishing with a doctorate in 1898. Already whilst a student he concerned himself with work on the normal and pathological anatomy of the ear in Anton Weichselbaum’s institute. Adam Zreľák (born 5 May 1994) is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a forward for Warta Poznań and the Slovakia national team. Sabinov District (''okres Sabinov'') is a district in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia. It lies on the highlands of Šarišská vrchovina. The district had been established in 1923 and from 1996 exists in its present borders. Food, pharmaceutical and clothing industry and located foremost in its towns and Šarišské Michaľany. Khust
Khust ( uk, Хуст; hu, Huszt) is a city located on the Khustets River in Zakarpattia Oblast ( province) in western Ukraine. It is near the сonfluence of the Tisa and Rika Rivers. Jasło
Jasło is a county town in south-eastern Poland with 36,641 inhabitants, as of 31 December 2012. It is situated in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship (since 1999), and it was previously part of Krosno Voivodeship (1975–1998). Strzyżów
Strzyżów is a town in Strzyżów County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland, along the Wisłok river valley. Strzyżów is one of the towns within the Strzyżowsko-Dynowskie Foothill, located south-east of Kraków and 30 km from Rzeszów. Muszyna
Muszyna is a town in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, southern Poland. Population: 4,989 (2006). It is a railroad junction, located near border with Slovakia, with trains going into three directions - towards Nowy Sącz, Krynica-Zdrój and southwards, to Slovakia. The distance to the border is .
