Limoges, Ontario is a small unincorporated place located in The United Counties of Prescott and Russell approximately 35 kilometres (22 mi) east of Ottawa. The east and north sides of the community are located in the township of The Nation, while the west side of the community is located in the township of Russell. Transportation Limoges is north of Exit 79 on Trans-Canada Highway 417. The community is situated between the towns of Casselman and Embrun and close to Larose Forest. Limoges Road serves as the main road for the village. Economy Limoges is home to Calypso Park, Canada's largest theme waterpark, Limoges Self Storage, Oasis Mini Golf, and Kittawa, a camping site. The local economy is very limited, with only a few amenities. Most citizens visit nearby Embrun or Casselman for their groceries and larger purchases; the only place in Limoges to buy groceries is a "dépanneur"-style convenience/general store. Calypso Theme Waterpark is a waterpark located in Limoges, Ontario, Canada, about east of Ottawa. The park opened to the public on June 7, 2010. Larose Forest
Larose Forest is a man-made forest in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, Ontario, Canada. It is about east of Ottawa, straddling the boundary of Clarence-Rockland and The Nation municipality. The forest, part of the of forest in Ontario, is named after Ferdinand Larose, and is owned and managed by the county. Recreational activities in the multi-purpose forest include hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, hunting and trapping, animal watching, and horseback, ATV and snowmobile riding. The forest is also used for small-scale logging operations. Embrun (ˈɛmbrən in English; ), is a community in the Canadian province of Ontario in the Eastern Ontario region. Embrun is also part of the National Capital Region. Embrun is part of the larger Russell Township in Prescott and Russell United Counties. In 2011 (the year of the most recent census), the urban area of Embrun had a total population of 6,380, but if surrounding agricultural areas closely tied to the community are included, the population figure rises to 8,669. Casselman, Ontario
Casselman is a village in eastern Ontario, Canada, in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. Situated on the South Nation River about southeast of downtown Ottawa, along the Trans-Canada Highway 417. It is served by a station on the Montreal-Ottawa Via Rail train, twice a day in each direction. Casselman is surrounded on all sides by The Nation since Casselman citizens refused to join the fusion of municipalities. The village was named after Martin Casselman who built a sawmill near the site of the current town in 1844. Its post office was established in 1857. The village installed modern water and sewer services that became operational in 1977. Trans-Canada Highway 417
King's Highway 417, commonly referred to as Highway 417 and as the Queensway through Ottawa, is a 400-series highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. It connects Ottawa with Montreal via A-40, and is the backbone of the highway system in the National Capital Region.
