Lilis Suryani
Lilis Surjani (Perfected Spelling: Lilis Suryani; 22 August 1948 – 7 October 2007) was an Indonesian singer, known especially for her 1965 album ''Gang Kelinci'' and the song of the same name, a song highly critical of Indonesian president Sukarno's "Guided Democracy" program, which it criticizes (allegorically) for ending a period of liberal democracy and replacing it with a totalitarian system of censorship and economic exploitation. Biography Suryani was born in Jakarta on 22 August 1948. As a young girl she showed herself to be a good singer, and was always looking for the opportunity to perform. She entered the music industry at age 15, when she was signed to Irama Records. This studio had her perform on the fledgling state television station TVRI, and with them she released her earliest songs, "Cai Kopi" and "Di Kala Malam Tiba", both of which were hits. Guided Democracy In Indonesia
Guided Democracy () was the political system in place in Indonesia from 1959 until the New Order began in 1966. It was the brainchild of President Sukarno, and was an attempt to bring about political stability. Sukarno believed that the parliamentarian system implemented during the liberal democracy period in Indonesia was ineffective due to its divisive political situation at that time. Instead, he sought a system based on the traditional village system of discussion and consensus, which occurred under the guidance of village elders. With the declaration of martial law and the introduction of this system, Indonesia returned to the presidential system and Sukarno became the head of government again. TVRI
TVRI (, Television of the Republic of Indonesia), legally ( Public Broadcasting Institution Television of the Republic of Indonesia) is a public television network and the oldest television network in Indonesia. Its national headquarters is in Gelora, Central Jakarta. TVRI monopolized television broadcasting in Indonesia until 24 August 1989, when the first commercial television station RCTI went on the air. The Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation or Borneo confrontation (also known by its Indonesian / Malay name, ''Konfrontasi'') was an armed conflict from 1963 to 1966 that stemmed from Indonesia's opposition to the creation of the Federation of Malaysia. Titiek Puspa
Sudarwati (born 1 November 1937), better known by her stage name Titiek Puspa, is an Indonesian singer and songwriter. ''Rolling Stone Indonesia'' has selected two of her songs as some of the best Indonesian songs of all time. Biography Puspa was born with the name Sudarwati in Tanjung, South Kalimantan on 1 November 1937 to Tugeno Puspowidjojo and Siti Mariam. Her family later changed her name to Kadarwati and then finally Sumarti. As a child, she wanted to be a kindergarten teacher. However, after winning several singing competitions she decided to become an entertainer, making the decision around age 14. Her parents forbade her from doing so. After winning the Radio Republik Indonesia singing competition in Semarang, Central Java, Puspa was asked by Sjaiful Bachri of the Jakarta Symphony Orchestra to sing for them. Uterine cancer, also known as womb cancer, includes two types of cancer that develop from the tissues of the uterus. Aluna Sagita Gutawa (born 11 August 1993), better known as Gita Gutawa, is an Indonesian soprano, actress, and lyricist songwriter. She is also the daughter of composer Erwin Gutawa. Although she originally studied piano, Gutawa later switched to vocals. She was discovered in 2004 while practising her vocals, then booked to sing a duet with ADA Band.
