Lac Lyster is a lake located in the municipality of Coaticook (Baldwin Mills), in the Coaticook Regional County Municipality (MRC), in the administrative region of Estrie, in Québec, in Canada. Geography The lake is located to the south of the territory of the city of Coaticook, very close to the American border. The hamlet of Baldwin Mill is located on the north shore, Mount Pinacle to the east, and Mount Barnston to the west. Coaticook
Coaticook () is a town on the Coaticook River in southeastern Quebec, Canada. It is the seat of the Coaticook Regional County Municipality, and its southern border is also the Canada–United States border. In addition to the primary community of Coaticook, smaller communities that are now within the municipal boundaries include Baldwin's Mills, Barnston, Ladd's Mills and Stanhope, the last of which was a separate community in the 1890s and used to have the small private Stanhope Airport. Name The municipality is named after the Coaticook River. The name “Coaticook” is of Abenaki origin, deriving from the term “koatikeku”, which means “''where the river is bordered by white pines''”. Estrie () is an administrative region of Quebec that comprises the Eastern Townships. ''Estrie'', a French neologism, was coined as a derivative of ''est'', "east". Mount Pinacle
Mount Pinacle (french: Le Pinacle) is a mountain located in Coaticook, Quebec Canada. The mountain has five hiking trails of varying difficulty, covering approximately , that visitors can explore with the purchase of an admission ticket. Experienced rock climbers may scale the face of the hill starting from Lake Lyster. The mountain is exploited for its abundance of maples, with a sugar bush running along a portion of its trails.
