The Niger River is a tributary of the Tomifobia River. The Niger River flows successively in the municipalities of Coaticook, Barnston-Ouest, Stanstead-Est and Hatley, in the Memphrémagog Regional County Municipality (MRC), in the administrative region of Estrie, in Quebec, in Canada. Geography The neighboring hydrographic slopes of the Niger River are: * north side: Lake Massawippi, Tomifobia River; * east side: discharge from Luster lake, Meder stream, Coaticook River; * south side: Tomifobia River, Johns River (Vermont), Clyde River (Vermont); * west side: Tomifobia River. Hatley, Quebec (municipality)
Hatley is a municipality of about 771 people, in Memphrémagog Regional County Municipality in the Estrie region of Quebec, Canada. It lies to the south of the township municipality of the same name. An otherwise quiet and tiny agricultural setting, one of Hatley's main claims to fame is its annual Canada Day Celebration which always takes place on July 1. Along with a parade (featuring horses, floats, antique cars, tractors, children on decorated bikes and any number of other entrants), the day includes games for children, artisan vendors, a book sale, community lunch, local performers, and ends off with a fireworks display. Lake Massawippi
Lake Massawippi is a freshwater lake in Memphrémagog Regional County Municipality in the Estrie region of Quebec, Canada. The Tomifobia River is the source of the lake at its southern tip, near the village of Ayer's Cliff, Quebec. In early records, the lake was also called "Lake Tomifobi". The current of the lake flows north, funneling into the Massawippi River at the village of North Hatley, Quebec on Massawippi's northern shore. It is bordered by five municipalities: North Hatley, Hatley Township, the municipality of Hatley, Ayer's Cliff and Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley. Massawippi is an Abenaki word that translates to "the big deep lake" in English. Stanstead is a town in the Memphrémagog Regional County Municipality in the Estrie region of Quebec, located on the Canada–United States border across from Derby Line, Vermont. The Town of Stanstead was created in 1995 by the merger of the former villages of Stanstead Plain and Beebe (formerly Beebe Plain) and the Town of Rock Island. It is not to be confused with the township of Stanstead, which is nearby although not directly adjacent (the municipality of Ogden lies in between). Mount Pinacle (french: Le Pinacle) is a mountain located in Coaticook, Quebec Canada. The mountain has five hiking trails of varying difficulty, covering approximately , that visitors can explore with the purchase of an admission ticket. Experienced rock climbers may scale the face of the hill starting from Lake Lyster. The mountain is exploited for its abundance of maples, with a sugar bush running along a portion of its trails. The Clyde River is a tributary of Lake Memphremagog, over long, in northern Vermont in the United States. It is the easternmost of the four major rivers in Orleans County. It is the most powerful of the four within Orleans County, powering several turbines at damsites. It is part of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.
